Book of Ezekiel
Chapter 13

Ezekiel 12:24 For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel. (KJV) . . . The Lord GOD was getting fed up with the false prophets. The LORD is telling the people through Ezekiel that in the midst of the people of Israel there will be no more false visions or misleading prophecies.

Chapter 12 spoke of the vain visions and pleasing divinations with which the people of Israel dreamed up. The whole of Chapter 13 is levelled against them. God's faithful prophets are nowhere as severe on any sort of sinners as they are on the false prophets and false teachers! WHY? It is not because they are the most spiteful enemies to them, but because they put the highest disrespect and insult upon the Holy God and do the greatest damage to God’s people.

Ezekiel here in Chapter 13 shows the sin and punishment of the false prophets (13:1-16), and of the false prophetesses (13:17-23). Both these groups of heretics did their best to sooth the people in their sins, and under pretense of comforting God's people, flattering and satisfying them with false hopes that they would have peace. BUT . . . all the false prophets would be proved liars, their prophecies frauds, and the hopes of the people hopeless illusions.

Just as Chapter 12 condemned the false expectations of the people, so this Chapter condemns the false leaders who fed the people with false hopes. As an independent witness, Ezekiel confirms at the Chebar the testimony of Jeremiah (Jer.29:21,31) in his letter from Jerusalem to the captive exiles, against the false prophets. These false ones gave only over-all assurances of peace (Jer.5:31; 6:14; 14:13). The language of Ezekiel has references to the similar language of Jeremiah (Jer.23:9-38); the frustration of false prophecy that had its stronghold in Jerusalem, having in some degree extended to the Chebar; this chapter, therefore, is primarily intended as a message to those still in the Jewish metropolis; and second, for the good of the exiles at the Chebar.

Ezekiel continues to give the Word of the LORD to the people.

Prophecy against FALSE Prophets (13:1-16)

Ezekiel 13:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, (KJV)

And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying . . . the LORD gives orders to Ezekiel to prophesy against the false prophets and prophetesses, which were either in the land of Israel, of whom the prophet had seen; or who were among the captives in Babylon, where Ezekiel now was.

Ezekiel 13:2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD; (KJV)

Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel . . . heretics who called themselves prophets, and were considered so by others; even though they were not God’s true prophets, but false prophets; and so the Targum calls them. Son of man is found 94 times in the Book of Ezekiel.
That prophesy . . . these false ones spoke smooth things to the people (Isa.30:10); promising a speedy return from the captivity; and/or that Jerusalem would not be taken by the Chaldeans, or a speedy return to Jerusalem.
And say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts . . . they were NOT sent of God, nor did they speak from or for Him. They spoke only what came into their hard heads, things that agreed to their evil imaginations, and wicked hearts (Jer.17:9), such are false teachers, that go forth without being sent, and do NOT teach according to the Holy Word of God, but according to their own carnal thinking; so the Targum, according to the will of their hearts; . . . only what pleased them. Out of their own hearts . . . referring to the words of Jeremiah (Jer.23:16, 26); that is, what they prophesied was what they and the people wanted to hear . . . just like so many preachers of today! IF the preacher preaches the TRUTH of sin, judgment and the wrath of God . . . the people will NOT come back! And if the people do not come back, that would mean no money for his pockets! It is awful what some people will do to get that dollar! There are some filthy rich preachers!
http://www.worldlychaos.org/w_c_cults_rich_preachers.1.htm
Hear ye the word of the LORD . . . the Word, the Truth, which came from the LORD Himself, NOT from some vain man. The written Word of God should be attended to and well considered, both by teachers and hearers, as the only rule of faith and practice (Isa.8:20).

*****It seems that the people wanted to be deceived, and so they WERE deceived . . . just like today! They had NO excuse, then or now, because they had among them TRUE prophets . . . servants of GOD who spoke and wrote NOT their own thoughts, but as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (2 Pet.1:19-21), whom they might have known to be such, but they did not want to know (John 3:19-20).

Ezekiel 13:3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! (KJV)

Thus saith the Lord GOD, woe unto the foolish prophets . . . the false prophets, as the Targum; who are foolish, as are ALL who are not sent by God, and equipped by Him with wisdom and knowledge, and who prophesy out of their own hearts; for nothing but foolishness can proceed from there. This had to be a great humiliation to these prophets to be called foolish, when they considered themselves to be wise. But they were (and are) vainly puffed up in their minds, and were thought by others to be wise. 1 Cor. 1:19-21 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20  Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21  For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
(KJV) . . . TRUE wisdom comes only from the LORD!
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. (KJV)
That follow their own spirit . . . NOT the Spirit of God, who leads into all truth. These false ones pretended they had a spirit of prophecy, but it was their own spirit that they followed, NOT the Spirit of the LORD; so it is quite clear why they prophesied false things, and led the people wrong, just as all false teachers do, who forsake the Holy Word of God, and do not plead for the assistance and teachings of the Blessed Spirit.
And have seen nothing! . . . they saw NO vision, as one version renders it; they pretended to have revelations of future things from the LORD, but they did NOT! What they saw were vain visions and lying divinations or wonders (2 Thes.2:9), and were worse than nothing, for they spoke of what they never saw . . . like so many false prophets of today! BEWARE!!! They are everywhere!  http://www.letusreason.org/Pent1.htm
http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/fprophets.html
http://jesus-is-savior.com/False%20Religions/false_prophets.htm

*****There is a threefold difference between the false and the true prophets:
<><><>The message of the false prophet comes from their own hearts; while the true prophet’s message comes by the Spirit of God. The body of the thought does not present itself audibly to the natural sense, but directly to the spirit of the prophet; and so the perception of it is correctly called seeing the word of God (Isa.2:1;13:1; Am.1:1; Mic.1:1).
<><><>The point aimed at; the false is walking after their own spirit; the true is walking after the Spirit of God.
<><><>The result: the false saw nothing, but spoke as if they had seen; the true had a vision, not personal or private, but accurate and spoke the truth which they saw.

Ezekiel 13:4 O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes in the deserts. (KJV)

O Israel, thy prophets are like the foxes of the deserts . . . the false prophets, as the Targum; these are called Israel's prophets, because they received, embraced and were encouraged by them. They were NOT the LORD'S prophets because they were NOT sent by Him, NOR did they have any messages from Him. These false prophets are compared to foxes, for their crafty and sneaky ways, lying in wait to deceive, as they seduced the LORD'S people (verse 10), and such are false teachers, who walk in craftiness, and handle the Word of God deceitfully, and are deceitful workers, then and now! They are like foxes in the deserts, which are hungry and greedy, and make a prey of whatever comes their way, as these false prophets did to the people (verse 19). One interprets deserts as openings and broken places in the walls of a vineyard, where the foxes go through to enter the vineyard and spoil it . . . just as these false prophets entered in among the Israelites, like a vineyard, and did much damage, by shrewdly taking advantage of the weak and those of little faith. Foxes cunningly spoil the vines (Song 2:15), Israel being the vineyard (Ps.80:8-15; Isa.5:1-7; 27:2; Jer.2:21); their duty was to have guarded it from being spoiled, whereas they themselves spoiled it by their corruptions.

*****It may be the deserts may mean the land of Chaldea, where Israel was carried captive, and where these foxes (false prophets), could play their part to great advantage; not being under the restraints of the Sanhedrim at Jerusalem. Deserts, where there is nothing to eat; where the foxes become gluttonous and crafty in their plans to get food. Foxes find a home among ruins (Lam.5:18; Isa.32:13-14; Jer.9:11), so too the false prophets find profit in the ruin of their country.

Ezekiel 13:5 Ye have not gone up into the gaps, neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD. (KJV)

Ye have not gone up into the gaps . . . or breaches; so the Targum. The reference is to breaches made in the walls of a city when besieged; at which time those within gather together in great numbers to meet the enemy, and prevent his entrance by the breaches. It is not clear to whom these words are spoken: to the princes of Israel, the civil magistrates or to the false prophets, who seeing the sins of the people, like a mighty torrent, opening a hole for the wrath and judgments of God to pour in upon them, should have called them, and persistently pressed them to repent and reform, and to have put up their prayers, and made intercession to God for them; neither of which they did, and therefore are here blamed (Eze.22:30).
Neither made up the hedge for the house of Israel . . . or a fence or fortification. One version renders it a wall.
Another interprets it of repentance and good works; and so the Targum, which paraphrases the words thus,
neither have ye done for yourselves good works, to deprecate for the house of Israel, to stand to pray for them:
To stand in the battle in the day of the LORD . . . when the Chaldeans came against them by the will of God, He being angry with them, came in battle array against them, with great wrath and indignation, in righteous judgments. The Targum is, when warriors come up against them in the day of the wrath of the Lord.

*****They false prophets took NO care to prevent the judgments of God that were breaking in upon the people. They are like the foxes in the deserts, running to and fro, in a great hurry to get away and move for their own safety, not to do any good. John 10:12-13 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. (KJV)
They are like foxes that are greedy of prey for themselves, crafty and cruel to feed themselves. They should have made intercession for them, to turn away the wrath of God; but they were not praying prophets, had no interest in Heaven nor dealings with Heaven, as TRUE prophets do.
They should have made it their business to preach and warn to bring people to repentance, but they did not!
They clearly saw a flood of profaneness and impiety breaking in upon the land, waging war with good and holiness, but they did nothing. They were unworthy, evil-doer prophets that could think only favorably of sin, having no zeal for God and the public welfare. This describes many of today’s preachers.

Ezekiel 13:6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word. (KJV)

They have seen vanity, and lying divination . . . the visions the false prophets pretended to see were nothing but the fruit of their own daydreams and imaginations . . . there was nothing real in them; and what they foretold were all lies, which never came to pass and never would.
Saying the LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them . . . they came to the people with a big lie in their mouths, telling the people that the LORD had spoken to them; when they had absolutely NO mission whatsoever from Him; NOR any command from Him to say what they did; nor any permit from Him to prophecy.
And they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word . . . to hope that what was said by them would be accomplished; and that their prophecies would be fulfilled. By their earnest, smooth way of speaking; and by the use they made of the Name of the LORD; by strong assurances they gave and by their many repetitions of their predictions, the people hoped and believed that the event would answer to what the false ones said! So, instead of bringing the people to see their sins, and repentance for them, whereby the judgments of God would have been prevented, they hardened them in them, and hurried their ruin. Also the parallel clause, they have seen vanity, implies that they believed their own lie. 2 Thes.2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (KJV)

*****The false prophets sweet-talked the people into a fruitless hope that the judgments God had threatened would never come to be, thus hardening those in sin whom they should have tried to turn from sin. They made others hope that all would be well, and that they would have peace, even though they still went on in their sins.   They told the people that their troubles will end and they would be prosperous again . . . as if their words would confirm false prophecies, in defiance of the Lord GOD Himself.

Ezekiel 13:7 Have ye not seen a vain vision, and have ye not spoken a lying divination, whereas ye say, The LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken? (KJV)

Have ye not seen a vain vision . . . a vision only in pretense, NOT in any way real, which was the effect of their own greedy minds, and not anything shown to them by the LORD.
And have ye not spoken a lying divination . . . they spoke an outright lie, saying the words had come from the LORD, when they had NOT! They spoke a prophecy that would totally deceive, and be of NO effect whatsoever, and in the end prove to be an utter falsehood.
Whereas ye say, the LORD saith it; albeit I have not spoken? . . . this is a proof that what they gave out for a vision and prophecy was a hopeless and false one; seeing they pretended they had it from the LORD, when He never spoke a word to them.

*****This shows us how carefully and persistently that we should guard against Satan’s tricks. False prophets and false teachers are remarkably bold to use GOD’S Holy Name while they brazenly trifle with His judgments. For anyone to boast that God has spoken to them, is as if they wanted to draw Him into a dispute. Dear one, God will NOT put up with anyone IF they turn His Truth into lie a big fat lie! There have been impostors in all ages who have rudely smacked the Lord GOD in His Face. It is not surprising that the heathen do it, but when it comes to His chosen people, it was certainly an unbelievable and intolerable disgrace, because they had access to all heavenly doctrine for the guidance of their conduct. But, we today have the Old and the New Testaments, and WE have NO excuse! We must NOT pay heed to false prophets! I think we ALL know in our hearts what GOD expects of us. BEWARE!!!

Ezekiel 13:8 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. (KJV)

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD . . . when the Lord GOD says something, it can be depended upon to come to pass; while the words of a false prophet cannot be believed, for they come from a lying prophecy.
Because ye have spoken vanity, and seen lies . . . which will in the end prove to be lying and deceitful, for if it did not come from God, but from themselves and the father of lies. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (KJV)
Therefore, behold, I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. . . or I will come unto you, and chastise and punish you (Rev.2:5,16); or I will be your Adversary. What a terrible thing it is for anyone to have Almighty GOD against them; for there is NO competing with Him. NO one has ever hardened themselves against Him and prospered . . . because men are to Him as stubble, or as thorns and briers to a consuming fire (Isa.10:17; 27:4). Briers and thorns are symbols of afflictions (Num.33:55; 2 Cor.12:7).

*****Ezekiel pronounces judgment against the false prophets. Up until now, all that was said, was in the form of a complaint, but now he shows just how disrespectful and wicked the false prophets had been in corrupting and profaning His Holy Name . . . and he then shows just how boldly they had reduced TRUE prophecies as contemptible by their horrid lies, and how cruel they were to the people whose safety should have been their first care. After God had so described their sins, He now states their punishment, and He says that He was their Enemy . . . I am against you, saith the Lord GOD. So, since the false prophets very recklessly corrupted God’s Word, by making it a pleasing game with them. . . the Lord GOD states that He Himself, is their Opponent. Dear one, IF you go against the Almighty LORD for ANY reason, YOU are His enemy, His opponent! BEWARE!!! You CANNOT win!

Ezekiel 13:9 And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies: they shall not be in the assembly of my people, neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. (KJV)

And mine hand shall be upon the prophets that see vanity, and that divine lies . . . meaning God’s own Hand, NOT the true spirit of prophecy, attended with a divine power and energy (1:3); but the righteous wrath and power of God grabbing them and punishing them. So the Targum, and the stroke of my power shall be upon the false prophets, &c. The idea is, that they would feel the weight of His Hand (1 Sam.5:11), and the lighting down of his arm (Isa.30:30), with the fierce, fury and indignation of His wrath (Isa.13:13; Jer.10:10); by inflicting harsh punishment on them.
They shall not be in the assembly of my people . . . would have no place in the church of God, nor fellowship with the saints; they would not join with them in religious worship. They would not be consulted by them on any account, civil or religious; nor be let into the secret counsels of the LORD, as the Lord's people are, who are His favorites and His friends. Psalm 25:14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. (KJV) . . . The Targum is, in the good secret which is hidden for my people they shall not be:
Neither shall they be written in the writing of the house of Israel . . . their names shall not be in the roll or register of those that return from captivity, as in Ezra (Ezra 2:1-2), but shall die in their exile; they shall not be in the list of the citizens of any city in the land of Israel (Isa.4:3),  and it seems that their names were never written in the Lamb's book of life (Rev.20:15), or that they were ever were among the number of God's elect, the true and spiritual Israel of God. So the Targum, and in the writing of eternal life, which is written for the righteous of the house of Israel, they shall not be written.  Psalm 69:28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. (KJV)
Neither shall they enter into the land of Israel . . . they would NOT return to the land of Israel, when the captives returned at the end of the captivity; nor would the enter into the Canaan, land of the heavenly rest, which remains for the people of God; because into New Jerusalem . . . nothing wicked shall in any way shall enter! Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (KJV)
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (KJV)
And ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD . . . omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), omnipresent (ever present), true and faithful, holy, just, and good. And they shall know that I am the Lord: (Eze.5:13; 6:7, 14; 7:4; 11:10; 12:15-16, 20; 24:27; 25:11; 26:6; 28:26; 39:28; Ps.9:16-17).

*****They see vanity and dream up lies; they pretended to have had visions, as the LORD’S true prophets had, where they really had none at all, but either it was the delusion of their own fancy (they thought they had a vision, as men in a delirium do, that was seeing vanity) or it was a fiction of their own mind . . . they knew they had not seen a vision and they made up and divined lies. Jeremiah 23:16-17 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. 17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. (KJV)
The devil is commonly known to be the father of lies (Jn.8:44), so these false prophets (children of the devil, 1 Jn.3:10), highly insult the Lord GOD, by their telling lies against Him, the Almighty Creator! God's mighty Hand shall be upon them, to grab them and bring them to His court, so that He can shut them far away from His Holy Presence, and they will find it a fearful thing to fall into His hands.
Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (KJV)
Luke 12:5 But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. (KJV)
Hebrews 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. (KJV)
Dear one, only YOU know where you stand with the One and Only Lord GOD! We ALL shall stand one day before Judge Jesus! Do you KNOW what He will say to you? Do you know where you will go? YOU CAN KNOW (Jn.20:31; 1 Jn.5:13).  http://www.godcannotlie.org/truth_about_salvation.htm
Then the following words will NOT scare you! 2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV)

Ezekiel 13:10 Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter: (KJV)

Because, even because they have seduced my people . . . false prophets seduced God’s people, those who were so only by profession. Those who are truly the people of God, although they may be deceived in civil things, they shall not be deceived in religious matters, at least not entirely and not in the end . . . so in this sense it is impossible to deceive the elect of God (Rom.8:33; Col.3:12; Tit.1:1; 1 Pet.1:2). But, since false teachers are great deceivers, they lie in wait like sly foxes (13:4), and use all means to deceive people, and DO deceive the ones who profess to be God’s people, which is greatly resented by the LORD . . . this is given as a reason of their punishment; and which is doubled (Lev.26:43-44; Jer.16:18; 17:18; Rev.18:6).
In today’s world, we also have those who PROFESS to be Christians! They profess Christ with their mouth, but their heart is FAR from Him! To be a TRUE Christian, a person must POSSESS Christ in their heart . . . or they do NOT belong to Christ! http://www.godcannotlie.org/true_children_of_god.htm
Saying, Peace, and there was no peace . . . stating that peace would be made with the king of Babylon; that the captives would return to their own land, where, with those that were in it, they would enjoy great prosperity; when NO such thing ever came to pass, nor ever would; but the exact opposite was certain, by the predictions of the TRUE prophets sent by the Lord GOD!
And one built up a wall . . . it seems that one of the main false prophets, told that Jerusalem would continue to be a walled city, and stand firm and invincible against the Chaldean army, and would never be taken.
And, lo, others daubed it with untempered mortar . . . and to make matters worse, other false prophets, seeing that what the first false prophet said, pleased the people, they not only agreed to it, but strongly confirmed it . . . and these smooth talking heretics with their colorful and baseless arguments, made it look all the more credible and possible.
CONSIDER: false teachers imitate the God’s TRUE servants of His Word, in preaching peace; but they do NOT tell people WHERE it is to be found . . . that being only in Christ Jesus!
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV)
Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV)

****Do you see how the people were deceived by the false prophets? They pleased, praised, sweet talked and seduced them by saying, Peace, and there was no peace (Jer.6:14; 8:11). They pretended to have seen visions of peace (verse 16) . . . but they lied . . . because the Lord GOD said there was no peace! There was absolutely no prosperity planned for them, so there could be no security for them . . . yet these false prophets told them that God was at peace with them, and had mercy in store for them, and that the war would soon end in peace, and their land would enjoy rest and peacefulness. They also told the idolaters and other sinners that there was no harm nor danger in what they did.
These false prophets seduced God's people; cheating them of the Truth of God, willingly leading them into making eternal mistakes, and drawing them far away from repentance and reformation which the TRUE prophets were desperately struggling to do!
Dear one, the most dangerous seducers are those who tell sinners things that lessen their dread of sin and their fear of God. This is compared to the building of a house upon the sand, which seems to be a shelter and protection for a while, but will fall when a storm comes. Matthew 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: (KJV)
False prophets, then and now, are out to make a dollar in the Name of our Blessed and Holy GOD! They tell people what the people want to hear, NOT what the people NEED to hear! Dear one, sin is rampant, and false prophets are saying God is not paying attention! Everyone is doing it! He will not punish us any time soon! BUT, every condemned sinner (Jn.3:18-20, 36), who has ever lived shall stand one day in a most frightening place . . . before the Great White Throne (Rev.20:11-15), and they will NOT like the verdict!
http://www.judgmentcoming.org/judgment_day_the_great_white_throne.htm
I suggest a better place of judgment: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . http://www.judgmentcoming.org/j_c_truth_about_salvation.htm
http://www.judgmentcoming.org/judgment_day_judgment_seat_of_christ.htm

Ezekiel 13:11 Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. (KJV)

Say unto them which daub it with untempered mortar . . . the false prophets flattered the people with peace, prosperity and safety . . . all lies!
That it shall fall . . . the wall the false prophets supposedly built and daubed over, shall be taken and destroyed; and the predictions of the prophets shall be proven to be lies; and the vain hopes and expectations of the people would utterly fail.
There shall be an overflowing shower . . . that shall wash away the wall with its un-tempered mortar; meaning the Chaldean army, which is compared to an overflowing shower of rain, for the multitude of men it, and the force, power and noise, with which it should come, bearing down all before it (Isa.8:7).
And ye, O great hailstones, shall fall . . . would fall upon the supposed wall, and break it down. The LORD threatens to rain down great hailstones upon them from Heaven, which would destroy the wall built with un-tempered mortar by the false prophets.
And a stormy wind shall rend it . . . this seems to indicate the same as the overflowing shower, the Chaldean army, compared to a strong tempestuous wind (Jer.4:11), as the hailstones may mean the king of Babylon, with his princes, nobles and generals.

*****They will soon be enlightened by the judgment of God, which was the Truth that the true prophets of God was telling the people. God will in His righteous wrath, bring a terrible storm that shall beat fiercely and furiously upon the supposed wall of the false prophets. The descent which the Chaldean army shall make upon Judah, and the siege which they shall lay to Jerusalem, will be as an overflowing shower or flood, such as Solomon calls a sweeping rain that leaves no food (Pro.28:3), and will bear down all before it, as the deluge did in Noah's time (Gen.7:19).
And ye, O great hailstones . . . the weapons of Heaven shall fall, every hailstone would be like a cannon-ball, battering this wall, and in addition to the hailstones, a stormy wind, which is sometimes so strong as to rend the rocks (1 Ki.19:11), which is much more stable that an ill-built wall (verse 11). But what makes this rain, hail and wind most terrible is that they come from the wrath of God.
The fury of Nebuchadnezzar and his princes, who greatly resented Zedekiah's deceit, made the invasion very difficult, but that was nothing in comparison with the Lord GOD’S displeasure. The staff in their hand is God’s outrage (Isa.10:5).
Dear one, what most people NEVER think of, is that an angry God has winds and storms at His beck and call, with which to alarm sinners who think they are safe and secure; and His wrath makes them frightful; for who can stand before Him when He is angry?
Whatever people think could shelter themselves with against the judgments of God, while they continue on in their sin, is nothing but a refuge of lies and will NOT profit them in the day of God’s wrath (Isa 28:17). God's anger will overthrow anything that men build in opposition to Him. They and all their attempts and all the places of safety, with which they entrench themselves, shall be as a bowing wall and as a tottering fence (Ps.62:3). 1 Cor. 3:13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. (KJV)

Ezekiel 13:12 Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? (KJV)

Lo, when the wall is fallen . . . means when Jerusalem is taken,
Shall it not be said unto you . . . the people would ask the false prophets who had deceived them,
Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it? . . . what happened to your promises of peace, and claims of safety and prosperity? All their false prophesies were destroyed by the coming judgments that the true prophets spoke about. The stupid falsehood of their words would be exposed to the eyes of all. All their smooth words of hope and phony pretenses would be insulted by those they had deceived, and laughed at by such who ignored their predictions, and believed the prophets of the LORD.

*****False prophets would be a laughing-stock to all when their prophecies came to nothing, for when Jerusalem fell, the people would know them to be liars. When the city was taken, it revealed that they were the devil’s ministers of deceit, for they were well trained in wickedness and boldness when they put forth the Name of the Lord GOD! Ezekiel indicates that their folly and vanity would be completely exposed, for the proverb would be present everywhere . . . where is the daubing with which you daubed it?

Ezekiel 13:13 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. (KJV)

Therefore thus saith the Lord God . . . this just confirms what the Lord GOD had before told the prophet to say (verse 11).
I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury . . . stormy winds sometimes rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks (1 Ki. 19:11); and could do much worse to feeble tottering walls. What is before attributed to the stormy wind is said to be done here by the Lord GOD Himself, making use of the wind as a weapon; stormy winds fulfil His Word (Ps.148:8); and the reason for this is His wrath, which made all this happen; meaning the invasion of the Chaldean army, and this is mentioned in all the following clauses.
And there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it . . .  which, coming from the Lord, and attended with His wrath and fury, would bring on utter ruin and destruction. The whole is paraphrased by the Targum thus, and I will bring a mighty king with the force of tempests; and a destroying people as a prevailing rain in my fury shall come; and kings, who were powerful as hailstones, in wrath to consume.

*****The LORD still pursues the same emotion; but He says He will send forth an overflowing shower, great hailstones and a stormy wind. Before He spoke of hail, showers and violent storms; but now He says, that those hailstones, showers, storms and winds, would be present to obey Him. This verse does not differ from the one before, except that it reveals God’s power much more clearly to overthrow the supposed wall which the false prophets had raised. The builders of the wall, and those that daubed it, will themselves be buried in the ruins of it. It shall fall, and they all shall be consumed in the midst of it.

Ezekiel 13:14 So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (KJV)

So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered mortar . . . this is repeated and expressed in these words, both to confirm and explain what was said before.
And bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered . . . meaning the city of Jerusalem, and indicating the utter destruction of it; and where also, it would be discovered the hopeless promises and lying predictions of the false prophets, and which would show to be totally untrue: so the Targum,
and I will destroy the city in which ye have prophesied false prophecies; and I will cause it to fall to the ground, and its foundations shall be discovered:
And it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst of it . . . not only the city, but also the false prophets perished in the destruction of Jerusalem . . . not one of them escaped.
And ye shall know that I am the Lord . . . those who are left, and are true to His Word. And they shall know that I am the Lord: (Eze.5:13; 6:7, 14; 7:4; 11:10; 12:15-16, 20; 24:27; 25:11; 26:6; 28:26; 39:28; Ps.9:16-17).

*****This repeats the same threat as in verse 11, and is in hopes to awaken the people out of their dream of safety by the certainty of the event. As the wall represents the security of the nation, so too the foundation represents Jerusalem, on which they rested their confidence.
As a result, the threats of God's righteous wrath, and all His intentions of it, shall be accomplished to the utmost, both upon the wall and upon those that have daubed it (verse 15). The false prophets will be punished because of their damnable heresies (2 Per.2:1), because they themselves would be involved in the calamity which they duped the people to believe that there was no danger. So, if the blind lead the blind, both the blind leaders and the blind followers will fall together into the ditch (Mat.15:14; Lk.6:39). What a tremendous lesson here for us today, because there are SO many unfaithful preachers that will NOT preach the TRUTH of the Bible! Because people do NOT want to hear that they are sinners bound for Hell, and unless stop their sin, they will face the Holy and righteous wrath of God . . . these false teachers bring only what people want to hear, nice smooth words! Isaiah 30:10 Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (KJV) . . . Things have not changed in this respect since Isaiah’s time!
Dear one, both the deceivers and the deceived shall perish together . . . in times past, in today’s world and in the last days! Anyone who is stupid enough to think that they can outsmart Almighty GOD in any way, is a complete fool! And anyone who is stupid enough to think they can disobey God and keep on in their sin, and that He is not watching is also a fool! BEWARE of His wrath! Judgment Day is coming! And YOU will be there!

Ezekiel 13:15 Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall, and upon them that have daubed it with untempered morter, and will say unto you, The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it; (KJV)

Thus will I accomplish my wrath upon the wall . . . or the city, as the Targum; pour out all his indignation, and inflict just punishment upon the city of Jerusalem and its inhabitants:
And upon them that have daubed it with untempered mortar . . . meaning the false prophets: so the Targum,
and the false prophets that prophesy in it false prophecies:
And will say unto you, the wall is no more, neither they that daubed it . . . neither the city of Jerusalem, nor the false prophets that foretold of its safety; nor their false predictions; nor the hopeless expectations of the people they fed them with: so the Targum, there is no city, nor false prophets. All gone!
The wall is no more, neither they that daubed it . . . the sin of the false prophets seems to be greater than that of the people, because some of the people lived through this disaster, but the false prophets perish in the ruins (Eze.13:14; Am.9:1).

*****There is no wall; those who daubed it are not . . . when God speaks like this, He means that He will NOT allow the false prophets to triumph among the people, except for a short time. For even to the destruction of the city and Temple these false prophets resisted God’s true servants with a bold and hard head, as if they would lunge against God and His messages with their horns like a raging bull.
Let us consider . . . that while Jerusalem was standing, the wall seemed to exist; for there was always the support of false doctrine (heresies), and these rebellious people (2:3-8), fed willingly on such deceptions. So it was that their daubing, for that reason, it stood until it vanished with the ruin of the city, and then their pride and arrogance was proven, for the Lord GOD took vengeance on these hard-headed triflers.

Ezekiel 13:16 To wit, the prophets of Israel which prophesy concerning Jerusalem, and which see visions of peace for her, and there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD. (KJV)

To wit, the prophets of Israel, which prophesy concerning Jerusalem . . . this explains who are meant by those that daubed with un-tempered mortar.
And which see visions of peace for her . . . not in reality, but as a hoax; the false prophets boasted that they had visions and revelations from the LORD, and assured the people, over and over again that they would enjoy great peace and prosperity; but these visions, as they are before called, were ineffective visions and lying predictions: there seems to be in this a reference to the name of Jerusalem, which, according to some, indicates, they shall see peace.
And there is no peace, saith the Lord GOD . . . not to the wicked; nor to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, who so willingly listened to the false prophets; nor would there be any peace to the false prophets themselves.

*****Woe to any prophet who foretells peace to anyone with whom God is at war. False prophets of the past, and false teachers in today’s world, who try to ease the conscience and quiet the fears in the hearts of the wicked, oppose the Almighty Lord GOD . . . and that is a terrible sin. True prophets of GOD and true teachers of God’s Word should be warning people to repent and cast off any sin. But instead, they bring only smooth, comforting words that give people hope, when there is absolutely NO hope whatsoever in their message!  BEWARE  of false teachers!

Prophecy against FALSE Prophetesses (13:17-23)

Ezekiel 13:17 Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people, which prophesy out of their own heart; and prophesy thou against them, (KJV)

Likewise, thou son of man, set thy face against the daughters of thy people . . . just as there were women in all ages, who had the true spirit of prophecy, such as Miriam, Deborah and Huldah (Ex.15:20; Jud.4:4; 2 Ki.22:14; Isa.8:3; Joel 2:28-29; Lk. 2:36-38; Acts.21:9); and some others who are thought to have spoken prophetically are: Rachael (Gen.30:24); Hannah (1 Sam.2:1-10); Abigail (1 Sam.25:28-31); Elisabeth (Lk.1:41-45); and Mary, the mother of Jesus (Lk.1:46-55).
Two other women are considered false prophetesses in the Bible: Noadiah (Neh.6:14) and Jezebel (Rev.2:20). And here, Ezekiel specifically warns about women who prophesy falsely, possibly referring to Noadiah (Neh.6:14) . . . so there were then false prophetesses that were great pretenders, just like today! Women are quite active in the Pentecostal Charismatic movement. I have had two incidents of Charismatic madness, and both included women, and I want NO more!

Which prophesy out of their own heart . . . as the men did (verse 2); whatever came into their minds, and their own imaginations led them to; what was according to their carnal affections and desires, and agreeable to those that heard them.
And prophesy thou against them . . . Ezekiel was told to declare their prophecies false; told to WARN the people about listening to them; and prophesy (predict) what would befall them for deceiving the people. I believe that we, like Ezekiel, are to WARN people of false teachers, and I also believe that if we do not warn people, WE shall be held accountable.

*****Satan’s lies were spread among the people by women as well as by men. The gift of prophecy was at times given to women in the Bible, although rarely, but there is no doubt that female prophets did exist whenever God wanted to brand men with a mark of shame and disgrace as strongly as possible. Whatever the reason, women have at times enjoyed the prophetic gift at times. And that may be the meaning of Joel’s second chapter. Joel 2:28-29 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: 29  And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. (KJV) . . . There is no doubt that the Holy Spirit transfers to the Kingdom of Christ what had been customary among the ancient people. For we know that Christ’s Kingdom is represented, under the image of that government which God formerly held under the Law. Since then, certain women were gifted with the prophetic spirit, Satan, according to his custom, abused this under a false pretense. We know that he always rivals God and transforms himself into an angel of light (2 Cor.11:14), because if he were to show himself openly, all would instantly flee from him. Satan not only sends false prophets to scatter lies and deceptions, but he also uses females in the same harmful way. https://www.gotquestions.org/false-prophet.html

Ezekiel 13:18 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? (KJV)

And say, thus saith the Lord GOD, woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes . . . or, put pillows on all elbows, indicating that they might be at ease, and rest secure, and see themselves as in the utmost safety, and not fear any enemy, the invasion of the Chaldeans; or that their city would be destroyed, and they carried captive, as the prophets of the Lord had foretold.
And make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature . . . whether taller or lower; the word stature, according to one, is used, because the people stood when they asked the prophetesses to see if they would have peace or not, or if good or evil would befall them. All kinds of people came to the prophetesses for their ‘advice’ for they did not refuse any that came to them. Make kerchiefs . . . these kerchiefs or veils seem to have been thrown over the heads of those who came to consult the prophetesses (soothsayers, fortune tellers, mystics) concerning the future, in order to blindfold them and draw them into the magic circle. These kerchiefs differed in length according to the stature of the inquirer. Ezekiel points out what he had seen . . . and to him, those veils (kerchiefs) he had seen, were like a net cast over the victims of the false prophetesses, a snare from which they could not escape. Of every stature . . . kerchiefs were put on every one, young or old, which is often meant by their stature.
To hunt souls . . . to bring the people into their nets and traps; to catch them with their false prophecies, and deceive them by their misleading signs, and superstitious rites and ceremonies, to ruin and destroy them. One commentator thinks that pillows and kerchiefs mean nets (traps), with which they covered their heads and arms; because there is no connection between these things and hunting.
Will ye hunt the souls of my people . . . the LORD is angry with these women for trying to ensnare the people, and looking for ways to destroy their peace and comfort and even their souls. The Lord GOD asks: Do you dare to promise they shall live when I promise no such thing?
And will ye save the souls alive that come unto you . . . can you save them from the ruin and destruction that is coming upon them? NO! You cannot; and it is utter wickedness for you to tell them you can. The Targum is, the souls of my people can ye destroy or quicken?

*****The false prophetesses kept the people dumbfounded, and terrified them with their pretenses. They used all the skills they had to seduce or force the people into those places where they delivered their pretended prophecies. They used magic charms and veils used in witchcraft practices to ensnare the people in idolatry. They had such an influence on them that they made them do exactly what they wanted them to do, and then they intimidate and oppress them. It really was the people's fault that they respected them as they did, but it was the false prophetesses fault by their lies and falsehoods to command that respect. They pretended to save souls, and/or secure salvation . . . but they did NOT, nor could NOT do that! This is very common in today’s cults, including the largest and most dangerous ones!  BEWARE!!!

Ezekiel 13:19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? (KJV)

And will ye pollute me among my people . . . the Name of the Lord isviolated by abusing it, they covered their wicked practices by pretending they were sent by Him, when they were not . . . and that what they said came from Him, even though He had NOT spoken by or to them. They said that it was His will they declared, when it was what came out of their own evil hearts and heads. They polluted God by making His Holy Name the cloak under which they uttered falsehoods.
For handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread . . . handfuls expresses the tiny gain for which they bartered immortal souls (Mic.3:5, 11; Heb.12:16). This shows that they were ready to do or say anything for the smallest gain; their consciences being seared; they worked their wickedness with greed for filthy lucre's sake (Tit.1:11), and for such a tiny portion; which only worsened their sin and foolishness (Pro.28:21-22).
See greedy preachers: http://www.worldlychaos.org/w_c_cults_rich_preachers.1.htm
To slay the souls that should not die . . . they threatened the captives in Babylon, who had surrendered themselves in Jehoiachim's time, with destruction and death; who should have been comforted in their exile, and whom the Lord in his own time would deliver.
And to save the souls alive that should not live . . . by promising the inhabitants of Jerusalem long life, safety, and prosperity; when the LORD said they would die either by the sword, famine and pestilence; or be carried captive, which was as death . . . for this they tried to do.
By your lying to my people that hear your lies? . . . their false prophecies, which some listened to and believed; while others were intimidated and oppressed by, and feared that so it would be.They falsely flattered those that came to them, and maliciously threatened those that would not come.

*****The false prophets (both men and women) abounded both in Judaea and among the captives in Babylon. It was by their flattering speeches that the hearts of the careless, unsuspecting people were lured . . . so it is against them that the prophet is ordered to direct the Word of the Lord. They are called the prophets of Israel: probably they claimed that title to themselves, and persecuted the few faithful prophets because they contradicted and opposed their falsehood and lies. Dear one, the Lord GOD is the Enemy of all those who rise up against Him.

Ezekiel 13:20 Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly. (KJV)

Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD, behold, I am against your pillows . . . the LORD not only had a hatred of the false prophetesses, but was determined to destroy them, reveal their falsehoods, and expose them to shame and contempt. He hated their lies and ceremonial tricks by which they cheated the people. It’s happening in our day!
Wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly . . . into their snares, as fowlers disturb birds so they are caught in the net spread for them. Make them fly with their new truths and strange thoughts, as they now pretend to do.
And I will tear them from your arms . . . this seems to mean that those pillows (verse 18 ) which were not only put under the arms of those that came to inquire of these female prophets or fortune tellers; but they put them under their own arms, and lay upon them as if they were asleep, and in a dream or trance; and too the kerchiefs or veils that were upon their heads, which covered their faces, to show that they were totally focused on the visions and revelations they pretended were given to them by the LORD; and which they gave out, in this absurd way, to the gullible people that flocked around them.
And will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly . . . the souls that were fascinated with their false notions; were drawn into their nets and snares; lured into the gardens, where they were prevailed upon to sacrifice to idols (Isa.65:3; 66:17), and were taken in with their soothsaying and lying divinations; these the LORD promises to break the snare for them, and set them at liberty, and preserve them from that ruin and destruction they were ready to come into (Ps.124:7). Let the souls go . . . Ye make them fly in order to destroy them . . . the LORD will let them go in order to save them (Ps.91:3; Pro.6:5; Hos.9:8).

*****Ezekiel threatens the women with what would shortly happen, that being that the Lord GOD would not only render them contemptible, but also ridiculous, before all the people. The prophet’s intention, is lengthy in this condemnation. God says that He is an enemy to those pillows, meaning those false ceremonies which were like cloaks to deceive these rebellious people (2:3-8): so He says, that those souls were a prey. He uses the comparison from hunting: ye have hunted, says he, the souls of my people. And this is the meaning of the word used immediately afterwards for flying.
The prophet speaks of their lofty thoughts, for we know that false prophets boasted in this trick, when they either raise, or pretend they raise men’s minds up, and curious men desire this only; and so it happens that the doctrines of the Law and the Gospel are dull to them, because subtleness alone delight them. So the prophet says, that these women hunted the souls of the people, because they had snares prepared in which they entangled all who would fall for their deceptions and delusions. The sense of the passage is clear. God will rise up against their pillows, by which they have hunted birds to make them fly; and He will free them from their arms, and would let go the souls which you have hunted to make them fly.

Ezekiel 13:21 Your kerchiefs also will I tear, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall be no more in your hand to be hunted; and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (KJV)

Your kerchiefs also will one tear . . . kerchiefs (verse 18), from their heads; discover their tricks, and expose them to the contempt of the people, and destroy both them and their works:
And deliver my people out of your hand . . . from being hunted, ensnared, and deceived by them.
And they shall be no more in your land to be hunted . . . but they would either flee into Egypt, and other countries, for shelter, or be carried captive into Babylon.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD . . .  see verse 9.

Judgment of false prophetesses by the Lord GOD:
<><><>I am against your pillows wherewith you entice men into your gardens or groves where you practice magical arts on them (13:20).
<><><>I will tear them from your arms, and liberate your victims.
<><><>I will also tear your kerchiefs and deliver His people from you (13:21).
<><><>They will no more be in your hands to deceive and enrich yourselves.
<><><>You will see no more vanity or divinations, for I will deliver My people from you (13:23).
<><><>You will know that I am the Lord GOD.

Ezekiel 13:22 Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising him life: (KJV)

Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad . . . by polluting the Name of the LORD; by hunting and enticing souls into their destructive nets; and by threats to those who would not pay attention to their unfounded formalities, lying divinations and false prophecies.
Whom I have not made sad . . . the Lord GOD would not have made them sad by false prophets and their lies, nor by any other means; nor by any of their spiritual enemies . . . instead, He would have comforted them by the covenant of grace (Rom.6:14-15; Heb.10:29), and the Promises of it, which are made for such a purpose . . . the Scriptures are written for this use; decrees are designed for this end; pastors and teachers are appointed for this work . . . and too, the Holy Spirit and the Son of God Himself was sent for this reason.
And strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way . . . false prophetesses kept on in their wickedness, showing no repentance and reformation; and were far from stopping what they were doing. Those who are so brazen and hardened in their sin, are more often and open in performing it. It is through the prophecies of these false prophetesses and false teachers, that wicked men are by the doctrines of them led to damnation (Mat.23:33; Jn.5:29; Rom.13:2), and worst of all,
By promising him life . . . that he would have a long life and enjoy peace and prosperity in the land of Israel, and not be carried captive into Babylon. It is in this way that these false teachers (men and women) harden men in sin, by giving them hopes of eternal life, even though they willingly continue in their evil ways.

*****The false prophetesses told lies, like false teachers (men and women) today, speaking what they had NO right to speak . . . because they had NO Truth of the Lord GOD to tell, thus speaking only false things. They saddened the souls of the righteous, and strengthened the hands of the wicked, by promising them life and peace, and keeping them from repenting and turning from their sins.
False teachers make the hearts of God’s TRUE people (Jews or Gentile, Gal.3:28) sad, for they know that their own righteousness falls far short of the requirement to enter Heaven. It is only by the righteousness of Christ (Rom.3:22; 1 Cor.1:30), that we are justified in the Father’s eyes (Rom.5:1,9). False teachers teach damnable heresies (2 Pet.2:1), that belittle the love and grace of God the Father; making salvation dependent on the creature; His covenant conditional, and salvation to be by works, not by grace (Eph.2:8-9; Rom.6:23). All this undermines the Person, offices, and grace of Christ . . . which denies His deity and His divine Son-ship; making of no importance, His precious Blood (1 Pet.1:18-19) . . . and setting man's righteousness against the Lord Jesus’ righteousness, all of which greatly hurt the work of the Holy Spirit; because it ascribes regeneration and conversion to man's free will, which the Bible says is impossible.

There are some who believe that Christ died for all men, and so He died for them, no matter if their sin is rampant and not forgiven by God . . . and therefore they shall be saved, live as they will; and that in the end, all people will one day go to Heaven. This is called Universalism, and it is NOT taught anywhere in the Holy Word of God!

Ezekiel 13:23 Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations: for I will deliver my people out of your hand: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. (KJV)

Therefore ye shall see no more vanity, nor divine divinations . . . the false prophetesses would no longer be able to inflict upon the gullible people false hopes; for they would be so fully exposed that the people would not pay attention to their vain visions and lying divinations anymore . . . and no more gain would come to them . . . they would no longer be able to make false prophecies to anyone, as they had done . . . because they all would perish in the siege and destruction of Jerusalem . . . they and their false prophecies would cease together!
For I will deliver my people out of your hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord . . . see verse 21.

*****The false prophetesses would see NO more vanity! They had pretended visions; but their visions were totally empty of Truth! They had NO divine divinations . . . since the Lord GOD would not speak to them, they used demons. Dear one, where God is NOT, because of the iniquity of the people, the devil IS . . . and he is more than ready to strengthen and support any wickedness! And if he does not have enough priests, he will turn to priestesses . . . and these too will have a church, like themselves, full of damnable heresies (2 Pet.2:1), and wicked works (Neh.9:35; Ps.141:4; Col.1:21; 1 Jn.3:12). Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. (KJV) . . . BEWARE of false teachers who bring smooth words you WANT to hear! False teachers who tell you things change, when the Bible tells us GOD does NOT change (Mal.3:6).
BEWARE of the wickedness going on around you that gets worse day by day. Dear one, sin is sin to God! And ALL sin not covered by the precious Blood of Jesus (1 Pet.1:18-19), shall be punished (Gen.2:16-17; 3:3).
In today’s modern world, things are getting worse and worse; abortion, adultery, fornication, (living in sin without the benefit of marriage), alcohol, drugs, homosexuality, same sex marriage, hatred, murder of our police, violence that will not stop . . . on and on and on! I believe that ALL God’s TRUE children must be watchmen in today’s wicked world! WE shall be held accountable IF we do not WARN people what the WHOLE Word of God states! God is love and there is a Heaven . . . BUT God is also a God of wrath and there IS a Judgment Day coming . . . and there is also a HELL where the wicked will go.  We must WARN people when we see false doctrine and false teachers . . . or WE will be held accountable!
God's TRUE people shall be delivered out of the hands of false teachers! The Spirit of Christ (Rom.8:9) within them, shall reveal that they are being deceived and misled into a false peace and a fool's paradise. Trusting JESUS is the wisest thing you can do!

Special Comments

Being unfaithful to the Lord GOD, brings a frightening effect on the righteous:
<><><> Being unfaithful to GOD, casts a shadow on the path of the righteous, like the shadow of midnight; leaving him to grope his way in utter darkness. We should NEVER ignore God’s Word, for it points to the light of nature (Rom.1:20), and tells us; This is the right path, walk here!
<><><> Being unfaithful to GOD, is a blemish to the sweetest joys of the righteous. Because it is with lies false teachers make the heart of the righteous sad, for the Lord GOD makes the righteous glad, not sad. Being faithful to the LORD is like oil of joy to the rusty heart. But dear one, there is absolutely NO ground for rejoicing when one is unfaithful to Him! BEWARE of false teachers, for it is their cruel hand that snatches away the staff on which the struggling soul rests.
<><><> Being unfaithful to GOD, seeks to undermine the hopes of the righteous, beating at the very foundation of them (Ps.11:3). He may sit down in sadness and heave an unending sigh and he may even hang his “harp upon the willows (Ps.137:2).

Being unfaithful to the Lord GOD, SHOULD bring a heavy, threatening burden to the wicked.
<><><> Being unfaithful to GOD, encourages the wicked to follow his own feelings to be his guide. The false prophets (men and women) are described as those that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing. And so is the spirit of unfaithfulness in all ages of the world. The depraved heart is its standard (Rev.16:14). I believe that there are evil spirits in people today, just as there were in Bible times (Lk.7:21; 8:2; Acts 19:12-13). In fact, I believe evil spirits are more rampant today than then, because of drugs, and worse, their being legalized.
<><><> Being unfaithful to GOD, encourages the wicked to continue in sin . . . by bolstering their ego and strength and urging them onward in their greed for prosperity and wealth.
<><><> Being unfaithful to GOD, encourages the wicked to dismiss from his mind all thought of the future. It cries to the sin-stricken soul, Peace, peace. They never think of the hereafter (eternity); for in their way of thinking, there may be none . . . no heaven to gain, no hell to shun . . . so they are at peace . . . for many believe that once you die, you are dead! BUT. . . THAT is NOT what the Bible teaches! Dear one, one day everyone shall be judged. Judgment Day IS coming! http://www.judgmentcoming.org/judgment_day.htm
And there is indeed a place called Hell! And ye shall know that I am the Lord.
