It deeply saddens me the way that the world is turning away from the goodness of Almighty God. The vast majoriy of people in the world today never, ever, think of eternity. They just keep on keeping on in their sin, and they really must think they will go to Heaven. My dear friend, there really IS a Hell, and there really IS a Judgment Day when ALL people will be held accountable for their sins. BEWARE!!!

Introduction
The Will Of God

What is the “will of God”? Will = His choice, His special purpose, decree; He was/is inclined to do so, His desire, His pleasure. Is the “will of God” the same for every believer? Can the Bible tell me exactly what to do to carry out the “will of God”? These questions are asked over and over by God’s children. There are NO same, exact answers for every person. There is NO unfailing and reliable formula found anywhere in God’s Word that will tell us exactly what God desires of us, because each of us are different, and God’s will for each of us is not the same.

1 John 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. (KJV) . . . It’s hard to believe that one day all the world and everything in it will pass away. It’s even harder to believe that the person who does the will of God will live forever. So, what is the will of God? Here are some things to consider:
We must believe and accept Jesus, be born again into God’s family (1 John 5:10-12).
We must love . . . God first and above all else, and love others as ourselves (Mat.22:37-40).
Willing obedience is a must. (Mat.7:24; 12:50; John 14:23).
Earnest, sincere prayer is a must. (Mat.6:33; 21:22; Luke 22:42; Eph.6:18; Jam.1:6).
We must have patience as we wait for God’s answer for what we should do (Luke 21:19;     Rom.5:3-4; 1 Tim.6:11; Jam.1:3-4).
Daily study of God’s Word is a must. (Pro.6:23; Ps.119:11; John 5:39;17:17; Acts 17:11; Col.3:16).
We must be willing to serve Him. (Mat.28:19).
We must be holy, grateful, humble, proud of Jesus.

It seems that God has a plan for every one of His children, sort of like a ‘road map’ for our lives. If this is so, don’t we really want that map? His TRUE children really want to live as He wants us to live. “Not my will, Lord, but Thy will be done.” We need to imitate Jesus (Luke 22:42). To be in God’s will, we must walk as Jesus walked, and follow His incredible example for us! It is God’s will for us that we be like Jesus!
Rom. 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
          The primary concern in our Lord’s entire life was to do the will of His Father! He NEVER moved an inch unless His Father told Him to move. And any time He did obey His Father, and it led to difficulties for Him . . . He NEVER backed away! Threats or persecution from His enemies NEVER stopped Him from doing the will of God. Neither did the pleadings of His loving friends stop Him from doing what the Father desired of Him. John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. (KJV) . . . Jesus said that His “food” was to obey the Father’s will, and finish the work the He gave Him to do. Just as we ‘crave’ food for our bodies, our Lord ‘craved’ to do the will of God. We too should crave to do God’s will, deep in our souls. We must seek God’s guidance in our lives. We cannot do as we want and expect God to bless us.
It would be absurd to pray “Thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven” if we just plowed through life without asking God what His will for us is.

It is human nature to make plans and THEN ask God to bless them. What we should do is seek God’s will first. By constantly thinking about the Lord and the way He wants us to live, we will gain wisdom that will help us make right decisions and live as He desires. A close fellowship with the Lord, and to pray without ceasing (always being in an attitude of prayer), allows Him to counsel us and give us that wisdom.
Psalm 16:8-9 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. [9] Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. (KJV) . . . A wonderful sense of security is felt by God’s TRUE children. But, remember that He does not exempt us from the day-to-day circumstances of life. Believers and unbelievers alike will experience pain, trouble, and failure at times (Mat.5:45). But, those without Christ (unbelievers) have a sense of hopelessness, and are confused about their true purpose on Earth. Those who love and accept Christ, seek God and His will in their lives, and can move ahead confidently because they know what is right and important in God’s eyes. They know that God will keep them from being moved off of His chosen path, because they have the ‘road map’ (His will) for their lives. Let us trust Him and stay close to Him always!

GOD’S WILL
Chapter 1 How To Find God’s Will

It is absolute stupidity for a TRUE child of God not to seek God for guidance in our daily life. Consider a blind man in the middle of a dense forest. Hungry creatures are prowling, cliffs are nearby. Which way does he go? Suddenly a man comes from out of no where, and offers to lead the blind man out. Will the blind man stay there in that dangerous situation? It is highly unlikely that he would be so foolish as not to accept the help. Many believers could receive help, but refuse to ask.

In our lives, we will face many decisions, many crossroads. Some will be major decisions that will affect the rest of our life: a spouse, a career, change of careers, etc. Yet some believers plod on through without a thought of God’s will! It is extremely important to know what God’s will is when we choose someone we want to marry, or what He thinks is best for us in a career. We could very well choose a wrong path full of treacherous cliffs, sinkholes, and hidden dangers that Satan will cunningly place there. We would be like the blind man in the forest. It would be very wise to have a trusted Friend to lead us. Jesus is that Friend! He is ready, willing and well able to guide us on the best and safest paths. It is a wise person indeed who will seek out His will in every situation, large or small, in our daily life. He will NEVER fail you! He can SEE into the future . . . You cannot! Neither can I. No human can, only God can!
Matthew 11:28-30 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (KJV) . . . A yoke is a heavy wooden harness that fits over the shoulders of a single ox or a pair of oxen. A young untrained ox was often yoked together to an older ox that was experienced to teach it. An ox must submit to the yoke, but in these verses, Jesus urges us to join Him and tells us we will learn of Him (like the older ox teaching the young). Jesus can and does help people with their burdens. The rest that Jesus promises is love, comfort and peace with God, not the end of all work.

To take the yoke of Jesus means to walk with Him, down the same road, and we must allow Him to choose the road! We must submit (cooperate voluntarily) to His will, going at His pace, not ours; we must not lag behind, nor should we ever barge ahead on our own. Jesus does not force us to join with Him in His yoke which is easy and light. He never forces Himself on us in any way! IF we are wise, we will gladly take His yoke that leads to rest and victory, rather than the hard, heavy and burdensome yoke of self-will which nearly always leads to worry, frustrations, failure, defeat, sin and many regrets. When we accept the yoke of Jesus, we are submitting to the will of God.

We can’t ever hope for God’s guidance if we do not have a close personal relationship with Him. If we want God’s guidance, but do not hunger and thirst for God Himself, we will NEVER obtain the guidance we desire. So many people want the gifts of God, but want nothing to do with the Giver Himself. It’s just not going to happen that way! You must accept the Giver first! You must accept Jesus into your heart and life before God reveals His will to you.
1 Cor. 1:25-29 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. [26] For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: [27] But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; [28] And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: [29] That no flesh should glory in his presence. (KJV) . . . It is God’s will that we accept His Gift to us (eternal life through Jesus). This “foolish” plan of God is far wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is far stronger than the greatest human strength. God purposely chose things this world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. He chose those who are powerless to shame the powerful. God chose things hated by the world, things the world count as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. God works in very mysterious ways! The message of Christ’s death for sins sounds foolish to those who don’t believe, but it is God’s will that this is the ONLY way to ever reach Him in His Home, Heaven (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). The “foolish” people who simply accept Christ’s offer are actually the wisest in the world, because they alone will live eternally with God. These verses tell us we are nothing on our own. It is impossible for us to enter Heaven in our sinful condition! It is God’s will that we go through His only begotten Son. We are completely unclean, vile, corrupt, deceitful and desperately wicked, as the following verses tell us clearly. It is God’s will that we be purified by the precious Blood of Jesus (1 Peter 1:18-19).
Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (KJV) . . . We all are infected and impure with the deadly disease of sin. Any proud display of what we consider righteous deeds, are but filthy rags in God’s eyes. Sin makes us SO unclean, that we cannot possibly approach God (Isa.6:5; Rom.3:23) any more than a filthy beggar in dirty, rotten rags could dine at a king’s table. Our only hope, is faith in Jesus Christ. Just He alone can cleanse us and bring us into God’s Presence (Rom.3). This is God’s will for us.

Jer.17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (KJV) God makes it clear why we sin . . . it’s our heart. Our hearts are bent to sin from the time we are born (Isa.48:8; Ps.51:5; 58:3). Satan makes it SO easy for us to forget God and forsake Him. But, we do NOT have to give in to sin. We have a free will of our own and we can choose to yield to temptation, by asking God to help us resist it when it comes . . . and it will come! It is God’s will that we go to Him and ask for His help. It pleases Him greatly when we go to Him.

1 Cor. 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (KJV) . . . I truly love this verse! I am NOTHING without Jesus. I have NO wisdom of my own, I have NO righteousness of my own, and I certainly can do NOTHING to ever gain salvation on my own! Jesus is my wisdom, my righteousness and my redemption (my salvation Mark 10:45)! God has brought us into union with Christ Jesus, and only through Christ are we ever made right with God. It is God’s will that we trust our Lord Jesus completely and accept the wondrous gift He offers.
2 Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV) . . . When we trust in Christ and His work on the cross, we make a truly exceptional exchange . . . our sin for His righteousness. We cannot lose in this trade! Our sin was poured into Christ when He hung on that cross that day. His righteousness is poured into us when we open the door of our heart to Him. This is what is meant by Christ’s atonement for sin. It is God’s will that Jesus trades His righteousness for our sin; a treasured GIFT that cannot be measured, for something vile and worthless. Are we really grateful for His loving kindness to us, for His amazing grace?
Col. 2:3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (KJV) . . . God has hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in Christ. These are the “treasures” that we should be “laying up in Heaven” (Mat.6:19-20). This too is God’s will.

1 Thes. 4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: It is God’s will that you keep away from sexual sin as a sign of your love and devotion to Him. 1 Thes. 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. (KJV) . . . We MUST have a personal relationship with Jesus (God), or we shall NEVER receive any guidance from God. This starts with being “born again” into the family of God (John 1:12-13; 3:3). But, being a child of God is NOT enough! Far too many people walk the aisle at altar call, get baptized and think they have it made. That just starts your new life! You are then a “babe in Christ” and you must grow spiritually, just as you had to grow physically. Trust is NOT enough! You must also obey continually, day after day. If you truly want to do God’s will, there are other things you must do in order to know His will, as you shall see.
Gen.5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Gen.6:9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. (KJV) . . . Both these Old Testament saints did the will of God. The only way we can ever please God is to live life the way God wants us to live it, doing things His way! Seeking, finding and doing His will!

The great man of God, David, is the only person in the Bible that God calls “a man after mine own heart” (1 Sam.13:14). God’s will for David was to take him “from the sheepfolds . . . From following the ewes great with young he brought him to feed Jacob his people” (Ps.78:70-72). Even with David’s many horrible sins, God loved him, forgave him and used him abundantly, because God found David the son of Jesse, a man after mine own heart, which shall fulfill all my will (Acts 13:22). David loved God and his deepest desire was to please God and do His will.

It should be our deepest desire, honor and privilege to do God’s will. Jesus makes this quite clear to His disciples (then, and now).
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (KJV) . . . So, what IS the will of the Father? We must believe in Christ, repent of sin, live a holy life, love God and love one another. So, His will is for us to be sanctified (set apart for Him), which includes serving Him in a loving and willing manner.
Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (KJV) . . . Devoted, respectful, willing and obedient subjection to the will of the Father in Heaven is the firm and lasting bond that unites us with Jesus and all other believers. Only when we enter this holy circle do we become a TRUE brother, and sister, and mother to Jesus.
1 Peter 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. (KJV) . . . TRUE Christians want the will of God, NOT their lust or desires, to rule their lives. TRUE conversion makes a marvelous change in our heart and life. It changes our minds, our thoughts, our judgment, our affections and our speech. When we are truly converted, it is a very grievous thing for us to think of how we spent the past. When we live to the will of God, we no longer chase after evil desires, but are now anxious and honored to do the will of God.
Ephes. 5:17-18 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (KJV) . . . Be not unwise. Drunkenness is a sin that provokes God. It is never alone, but takes people into other evils. A drunk is a sad spectacle of a hardened sinner, speeding to perdition (Hell). Strong drink is hateful and hurtful, and only ends up in making many sorrows. It CANNOT solve any problem, nor can it take away any pain; in fact, it brings with it much great pain! It is God’s will that we, by fervent prayer seek to be filled with the Spirit. We must never grieve our gracious Comforter, nor should we ever quench the Spirit in any way (1 Thes. 5:19).
The main part of God’s will is for us has always been to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ (John 1:12-13; 3:3).
Ephes. 1:4-6 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: [5] Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, [6] To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. (KJV) . . . Before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes.
The FIRST and FOREMOST thing in God’s will that He wants of us is to become His child. We must be “born again” into God’s family, we must receive the second birth . . . our spiritual rebirth into God’s family! John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJV) . . . Jesus tells us very clearly that if we are not born again, we will NOT even SEE Heaven! It really is God’s will for everyone to see the kingdom of God. Mat.22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen. (KJV) . . . God wants us to join Him at His banquet (Heaven), which will last for eternity. That’s why He sends us invitations again and again. But, so many people refuse God’s invitation, coming up with so many weird excuses (Luke 14:15-24). It is His will for you. If you refuse His invitation, His will is entirely out of reach to you. He will not reveal it to you.
Philip. 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV) . . . THIS is the will of God! ALL people will one day bow to Jesus and confess that He is Lord, either on their own now willingly, . . . or one day out of absolute fear.

You must believe God (1 John 5:10-12), and accept Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. When you do this, Jesus has the power to make you God’s child (John 1:12-13). You must take this first step if you want God to reveal His will to you.

GOD’S WILL
Chapter 2 MUSTS To Finding God’s Will

***** #1 We MUST have faith.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV) . . . You must TRUST Him with ALL your heart (totally, completely). You must NOT doubt Him. And you must NEVER rely on what you think you know. You must seek His will in ALL you do (everything, big and small). If you do this in a sincere manner, He shall guide your paths, He will make known to you what His will is. You must have faith!

Any time you lack wisdom (knowledge of God and what God wants), He wants us to ask and He will grant it to us, but you must ask in faith! (James 1:5-7) God clearly tells us, “If you need My wisdom, if you want to know what I want you to do, ask Me. I will be glad to tell you.” God will never resent you and rewards ALL those who seek Him. But, we must have patience and not try to hurry God in His answer.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste. (KJV) . . . Faith that is firm and steadfast is also patient!
Isaiah 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him. There is no other god like Him! He does great things for those who put their hope in Him and wait patiently for Him. (KJV)
Jer.29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. (KJV) . . . This is like Pro.3:5. We must trust Him and seek Him with our whole heart, all your heart! If you don’t think He is worth ALL your trust, time and effort, if you don’t put all your heart into your prayer to Him, He will NOT answer you.

Jesus was in great agony as He prepared to face death. Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (KJV) . . . Even though Jesus cried out to God, asking to be delivered, He was prepared to suffer humiliation, separation from His Father, and death in order to do His Father’s will.

At times we will undergo trials, not because we want to suffer, but because we want to obey God. We should remember Jesus’ obedience, and the way He prayed. Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. (KJV) . . . Jesus prayed with all His Heart, and soul and mind and strength! (Lk.10:27). And He knew the Father heard Him! He knew the Father would answer Him! This is how we should pray when we want God’s guidance. Trust God completely as Jesus did. And be prepared to accept God’s will, whatever it may be. You will be able to face anything if you know that Jesus is with you.

Have you ever felt that God didn’t hear your prayers? Make sure there isn’t any unconfessed sin blocking the channel to Him. And remember to pray with all your heart when you seek Him. Pray with solemn, respectful submission, yielding totally to Him. Be willing (like Jesus) to do whatever it is that God wants. God always responds to His obedient children.
Pro.3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. [6] In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV) . . . Here are these verses again. This time, we need to look at the following: "Lean not unto thine own understanding." The first thing we must do is trust God, have complete faith in Him, NOT trust in what we think we know.

***** #2 We MUST be humble and NOT rely on our own wisdom or understanding IF we want God to direct our paths.

We cannot, must not, trust our own natural wisdom in spiritual matters. Our skimpy intelligence (no matter how educated we are), is far too insufficient and lacking for even the slightest spiritual decision. If we depend on our wisdom, we can be assured the only thing it will accomplish is to keep God’s will from us.
1 Cor. 3:18-19 Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.
19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. (KJV) . . . Many people deceive themselves. The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. What this world thinks is wisdom, is foolishness to God. Job 5:13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong. (KJV) . . . Those who THINK they are wise, God catches in their own cleverness. Worldly wisdom is a complete hindrance if you want to know the will of God. Do NOT rely on it my friend.
Philip. 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (KJV) . . . We who worship God in the Spirit are circumcised in our hearts. Circumcised in the heart: (Deut.10:16; 30:6; Rom.2:28-29; Phil.3:3; Col.2:11; 3:11).
We put NO confidence in our human effort. We boast only about Christ Jesus and what He has done for us. It is so easy to put more emphasis on our outward religious efforts (confidence in the flesh) than on our internal faith. God values the attitude of our hearts over anything else. TRUE believers should be characterized by humility and lack of self-confidence. We must truly believe we are nothing without Jesus, if we want God’s will to be done in our life.
Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. [2] He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. [3] He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. (KJV) . . . Sheep are really very foolish, stubborn, hardheaded, fearful, unable to fend for themselves, need someone to guide them and are extremely short-sighted. A sheep’s only safety depends on their shepherd, following him where ever he went. And, sheep are dirty and filthy. God’s Word compares believers to sheep. Is it a correct description of us? I know many unbelievers would be absolutely appalled if we compared them to a dirty animal! And the pride of many would rebel at the very thought of being called stupid.

We must have a complete distrust of self if we want to experience God’s guidance in our lives. David did not mind one bit of being a “sheep” before the Lord. David simply said: I am one of the Lord's sheep. He is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water. He renews strength. He guides me in the right paths, just as He has promised. David was completely willing to let the Lord (his Shepherd) lead him everywhere. Unless we, like David, are willing to humble ourselves, and submit ourselves before the Lord, we will NEVER know the ways of God. We will NEVER know God’s will for us.
Psalm 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. (KJV) . . . We all are faced with multiple decisions each day. Sometimes we feel pulled in every direction. Remember that God teaches the humble ones His way, shows us His will. The humble person who knows his/her limitations, and leans heavily on God for help, wisdom and strength, will discover God’s will for them with no problem.

Prov. 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (KJV) . . . Acknowledge = to know, be aware of, to understand. If we are aware of and have an understanding of the Lord, (to me, meaning to obey Him); He will show us the right way (His will for us).
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. (KJV) . . . We shall be judged by the Word of God one day.
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. (KJV)
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. (KJV) What are His commandments? Where are they? In the Bible!
Mat.22:36-40 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [40] On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. (KJV)
Mat.7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. (KJV) . . . Do unto others as you would have them do to you! This is the will of God. You are not going to do anything bad to anyone if you follow this rule! There are many places in God’s Word that His will is clearly revealed to us.

***** #4 We MUST be holy.
We are to be holy. Lev.20:7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the Lord your God. (KJV) 1 Peter 1:15-16 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; [16] Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (KJV) . . . Sanctify = to be holy, to be set apart for God, to consecrate or dedicate your life to God. To be holy and sanctified, we must obey God. To knowingly and willingly practice sin (1 John 3:7-10), is an abomination to God, and is certainly NOT the will of God. It is absolutely necessary that you have NO unconfessed sin lurking within you (1 John 1:8-10). You MUST repent and confess your sins to Him before you ask Him to reveal His will to you. Unconfessed sin is a black cloud between God and you. He will NOT make His will known to you with sin blocking the channel from Him to you.

***** #5 We MUST be patient.
Psalm 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. (KJV) . . . We must wait patiently for the Lord when we go to Him in prayer. Rest assured that He will answer you if you are truly sincere with your request for His will to be made known to you. To wait for God is not easy. Our human nature is SO impatient! We often think that He is not answering our prayers or maybe He does not know how urgent our situation is. When we think like this, it indicates that God is not in control, or worse, is not fair. God’s decision is always worth waiting for and always is exactly on time! Please do NOT question Him, don’t get impatient (Tit. 2:2; 2 Peter 1:6; Jam.1:3-4; Rom.5:3-4). Wait on the Lord with patient expectation, and fervent prayer, knowing He will show you and guide you in His will.
Lament. 3:25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. (KJV) . . . The Lord is SO good to us if we wait patiently for Him and seek Him in ALL decisions of our life. Make good use of your waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach you. We do not have to be idle as we wait for God’s answer. There are many things we can do as we wait for Him. Patience in our waiting is God’s will for us, as is our seeking His advice in all matters.

***** #6 We MUST be thankful.
Col. 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. (KJV) . . . Being thankful to God for all He has done for you is God’s will for you. This pleases God.
Heb.13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (KJV) . . . The “sacrifice of praise” is the only sacrifice God requires of us! We should be so grateful to Him that we desperately desire to sing our praises to Him. We should never cease to worship Him, honor Him, and glorify Him and His Holy Name every day to everyone. This is truly the will of God in our lives. My friend, if you do not show your appreciation for what God has done for you in the past, and thank Him, don’t expect Him to bless you and make His will for you known in the future.

***** #7 We MUST never be ashamed of Jesus.
Luke 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. (KJV) . . . IF we do NOT obey Jesus command to us, and are ashamed of Jesus, He will be ashamed of us. What is His command?
Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: [20] Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (KJV) IF you refuse to reach out to others, as He commands us to do in this verse, you CANNOT expect God the Father to hear your prayer to reveal His will to you, because it absolutely is God’s will for you to go ye therefore. So many people claim to be “Christians” but in reality, do nothing to fulfill this command that Jesus gave to us.
Mat.7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (KJV)
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (KJV) . . . If you do not obey our Lord and bring the Gospel to lost souls, it’s useless to call out to Him to reveal His will to you. You can cry “Lord, Lord” all day long and you will not get an answer. To be ashamed of Jesus, in any respect, is NOT God’s will!
Mark 8:38 Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels. (KJV) . . . If a person is ashamed of Jesus and His words in these adulterous and sinful days, the Son of Man, will be ashamed of that person when He returns in the glory of His Father with the holy angels. Jesus gives us a choice here. We can reject Jesus now and be rejected by Him when He returns, or we can accept him now and be accepted by Him when He comes. By keeping silent on His command to us to tell others about Him, is actually rejecting Him. So many people claim they love Jesus, but do they actually obey Him??? The minor shame you would experience now, if you obey His command to “Go ye therefore” is nothing compared to being rejected by Jesus when He comes. Don’t worry about what people think of you, be concerned only with what God thinks of you. It is not your job to convert anyone. That is the Holy Spirit’s job! All you need to do is tell others what Jesus means to you. So, people will reject you . . . so what? You may escape shame for the time being by NOT speaking up for Jesus, but it will bring you an eternity of shame later. Your choice!
***** #8 We MUST love God and our fellow man.
Mark 12:30-31 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. (KJV) . . . Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart, with ALL your soul, with ALL your mind, and with ALL your strength.-, and love your neighbor as you love yourself. There is NO other commandment more important than these. When we love God and love others (Deut. 6:5; Lev.19:18), Jesus says we have fulfilled the purpose of the Ten Commandments and the other Old Testament laws. SO . . . unless we love as God suggests here, God will not hear us when we ask for His guidance.
***** #9 We MUST go to God in sincere prayer.
Mat.6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (KJV) . . . IF you seek God first, all else falls into place!
Mat.21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. (KJV) . . . Believe!
James 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (KJV) . . . If you doubt, do NOT bother to ask!

***** #10 We MUST study God’s Word.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. (KJV) . . . If we know what God says, we are more likely to obey Him.
Pro.6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: (KJV) . . . If we don’t think enough of God to study the Bible and learn more about Him, He will not reveal His will to us.
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. (KJV) . . . Only the Word of God, the Bible, can tell you how to receive eternal life.

***** #11 We MUST be willing to serve Him.
Mat.23:11 But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. (KJV) . . . Even Jesus humbled Himself to serve others. We must do the same IF we want to know God's will for us.
Philip. 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (KJV) . . . Our Lord Jesus was willing to serve; we must be willing too or we are not worthy of Him, and God will not reveal His will to us.
John 13:5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. (KJV) . . . Jesus humbled Himself to serving others.
John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. (KJV) . . . We are NOT better than Jesus! We all must serve one another.

***** #12 We MUST be willing to accept His will.
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (KJV) . . . Can you pray that God’s will be done in your life, no matter what? Are you willing to accept it even if you must suffer, as did our Lord? Many people cannot!

GOD’S WILL
Chapter 3 Us, Before . . . Us, Now

People try to excuse selfishness, pride, or evil by saying: “I have my rights.” They think they can cheat on tests, spend all their time and money on themselves, commit adultery, steal, lie, be mean and hateful to others, get an abortion, etc. They actually think they can do as they please, that they have that right! But, TRUE believers must obey God! As believers, we should have a different attitude, one that makes it possible for us to lay aside our “rights” in order to serve others. We must follow Christ, we must imitate Him and live as He lived. We must have Jesus’ attitude of humility and His love for God as we serve. We must give our bodies as a living sacrifice to God (Rom.12:1-2), to know His will.

Christ not only took upon Him the likeness and form of a man, but a humble Man; never appearing in splendid apparel, but the clothes of a poor man. His whole life was a life of poverty and suffering. His deepest humiliation was His dying on the cross, the death of a criminal and a slave; exposed to public hatred and scorn. Do NOT believe the heresy that Jesus was rich while He was on Earth. That is an absolute LIE!

At the Name of Jesus, we all should pay solemn reverence and respect. It is to the glory of God the Father, to confess that Jesus Christ is Lord; for it is God’s will, that ALL people should honor the Son as they honor the Father. Our life and service should be motivated by self-denying love in order for us to realize the wonder of God’s will. Do we REALLY love and obey the Son of God in this respect? Do we really honor Him and give Him the glory in all things? This is God’s will!
John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. (KJV) . . . Everything else in our life: marriage, family, friends, health, homes, jobs, etc. MUST come after Jesus! It is God’s will that we be born again and truly reverence Jesus! We must leave our old life of sin and disgrace and become a new person.
2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV) . . . Whoever is a TRUE believer in Christ is a new creation. The old way of living has gone. A new way of living has taken over.
God’s children are brand-new people on the inside. The Holy Spirit changes us and gives us new life. We are not the same anymore. At our rebirth, we do not simply turn over a new leaf; we begin a new life under a new Master. We gladly run from Satan, our old master who kept us in sin and joyfully and thankfully accept Jesus!
Colossians 2:6 As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: (KJV) . . . Once you have accepted Christ Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, you must live in obedience to Him.
In our old life, there was NO way we could expect God to reveal His will to us. Actually, we really did NOT care what His will was! But, when Jesus comes into our life, our heart changes completely. We now look back on our old way of life and shudder! How gracious God is! He could reach out and smash us like a bug if He so desired.

Now with Jesus in our heart and life, we have different thoughts, different attitudes, different reasons for living. Now, we earnestly desire to know what God wants for us. We desperately desire to know His will for us, and we really want to try to fulfill His desires in our life, and let Him lead us.

Ephes. 2:2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: (KJV) . . . Before Jesus, before we are children of God by His power (John 1:12), we were the devil’s children (1 John 3:10), the children of disobedience, and we lived just like the rest of the world. We were full of sin, obeying the mighty prince, Satan, who is the spirit who works in the hearts of all those who refuse to obey God (unbelievers).
1 Cor. 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ. (KJV) . . . Unbelievers cannot understand God, cannot understand the idea that God’s Spirit lives in us. The majority of people will not approve of or understand your decision to follow Jesus. They will think you have gone crazy. A tone-deaf person cannot appreciate fine music. A color-blind person cannot appreciate the beauty of a sunset because they cannot recognize the colors red, green, blue, violet and some combinations of these. It is like this with the person who rejects God; they cannot understand God’s beautiful message. All lines of communication to God the Father are kept open only by Jesus, so all lines are broken and he/she will not be able to hear what God is saying to him/her. No one can comprehend God (Rom.11:34) except through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Believers have insight into some of God’s plans, thoughts, and actions, they, in fact, have the “mind of Christ” (Phil. 2:5). Only through the Holy Spirit can we ever begin to know God’s thoughts, or talk with Him and expect Him to answer our prayers (John 9:31). A personal and close relationship with Christ comes only from spending time continually in His Presence and in His Word. THIS is the will of God.
2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (KJV) . . . A TRUE believer is created all over again. We literally are born again, born anew! Our heart is not just made right, but we are given a new heart (Eze.36:26). We are the amazing workmanship of God, created in and through Christ Jesus to do good works. We are the same on the outside . . . but God changes us inside, our character, our thoughts, our attitude, our conduct. Before we are born again, we see NO beauty in Jesus, that we should desire Him. But afterwards . . . we love Him above everyone and everything! He is SO beautiful!

The heart of an unbeliever is filled with ill will and hatred towards God, so God has every right to be offended with him/her. These people CAN be reconciled to God (Rom.5:10), but ONLY through God’s one and only plan, Jesus Christ. Peace with God has been made possible by Jesus, through the cross, and is available to “whosoever” will believe God (John 3:15-18; 1 John 5:10-12). We can be made the righteousness of God in Him, and Him alone (1 Cor. 1:30). This is God’s will for all people, yet most turn away and want NO part of Jesus.
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. (KJV) . . . When we hear a word behind us, we should walk in it! . . . Word = our conscience, guided by the Holy Spirit (John 16:13). God wants us to know His will for us in our lives. He loves us.
Rom.12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV) . . . God wants us to know what His perfect will is. TRUE children of God do NOT go along with this world’s ways that most often are selfish and corrupting. We should be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We can do this only with the Holy Spirit’s help. The Holy Spirit is one of the main ways God’s will is revealed to His children today.
Ephes. 5:17-18 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. [18] And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (KJV) . . . Getting drunk with wine gives a short lived high. Being filled with the Spirit, gives lasting joy. Getting drunk with wine refers to our old way of life and its selfish desires. Christ gives us great joy and peace which can NEVER be found in alcohol or drugs. Do not be concerned with how much of the Holy Spirit you have, be concerned about how much of you the Holy Spirit has. Submit daily to His leading, rely always on His power and wisdom. Ask God to fill you with His Spirit each day, meaning to be controlled by the Spirit. Do NOT “quench the Spirit” (1 Thes.5:19). Allow Him to work in you. IF we are “full of the Holy Spirit” (Luke 4:1), we can be guided and governed by Him, just as Jesus was. Be sure of your motives. The Spirit will never lead you where you will be glorified. His desire is for GOD to be honored and glorified, not you, not me. Selfish motives are never God’s will.

GOD’S WILL
Chapter 4 How God’s Will Is Revealed To Us
Recognizing the Voice of The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit speaks to us through a deep, inner pressure within us (our conscience), not an actual voice we can hear. He urges and persuades us inwardly: “yes, it’s ok” or “no, don’t do that.” To hear this “voice” we must spend much time in sincere prayer. It is possible for the Holy Spirit to give us a sudden urge to do something or go somewhere; but, we must be careful for it is hard sometimes for us to tell the difference between our own heart’s voice and the Voice of the Spirit . . . also we must beware, for sudden impulses can come from the devil too.

Consider this: the Holy Spirit will NEVER lead us contrary to what the Bible teaches; that is why it is SO important for us to study God’s Word daily, so we know what is there, and what is not there! The Voice of the Spirit will be felt by an increasing pressure within us, and too He will provide peace to us when we go to the Lord in prayer if His answer is positive, but with an uneasy, uncomfortable feeling if His answer is no. IF it is the devil trying to speak to us, he will often torment us with threats of judgment if we do not obey right now, whereas God gives us time to carefully consider and be sure it is His will.
This is an example of the Spirit speaking (to me). God has chosen me for some reason, known only to Him, to give me poetry. I am NOT a poet! God has to give me words, I simply write down what He places on my heart. Most of the poems come at night. I have never had trouble sleeping; so when I go to bed and sleep will not come, I am sure He has “words” for me. I get up, in the dark, go out to my recliner and sit. The words nearly always come immediately. But, one night in particular, I felt the “pressure” and I went to my chair. Nothing! No words! I was beginning to think it must have been “my” idea, not God’s! I don’t know how long I sat . . . a half hour, an hour?? All of a sudden one of my roosters crowed. This was before midnight. Roosters do not generally crow at that time of night, but this one did! As soon as that rooster crowed, words flooded my mind. I was obedient to the “inner pressure” and I was patient in waiting, and His will was clearly revealed to me. That was my most ‘miraculous’ guidance by the Holy Spirit.

It is not fair to think that God’s will is always the most difficult route. But, on the other hand, it is not always the easiest route either. I truthfully believe it lies somewhere in between. It is absolutely necessary that our heart and mind be open to the Lord, that we recognize the inner pressure, the inner witness (Holy Spirit), for it is He who is God’s main way of guiding His people today. In today’s times, it is rare (but not impossible) for God to guide us in sensational or miraculous ways. But, when you think about it, the Holy Spirit abiding within all believers (Rom.8:9), is in itself miraculous! And His working within us is truly amazing. God truly is GOOD! When the Spirit ‘speaks’ to us, and we feel that inner pressure, be patient, pray without ceasing (always be in an attitude of prayer, 1 Thes.5:17). When you realize it is God’s will, you will have a growing inward peace. And don’t forget, check your motives, they should not be selfish but want ALL glory to be God’s!

Guidance Through External Means

The Holy Spirit speaks to us internally, but God has some external ways of helping us to find His will for our lives as well. If we have decided correctly the will of God through the Holy Spirit, the following might help to confirm it.

***** #1 The Bible. In many of our daily decisions, the will of God is clearly revealed in His Word. For instance: *a. Believers should NOT marry unbelievers nor should believers remarry unbelievers after their spouse dies (2 Cor. 6:14). *b. We are to help those who are truly in need (James 2:15-16; 1 John 3:17). *c. Healthy, strong, well able people who refuse to work for a living should NOT receive welfare (2 Thes.3:10-12). *d. Do not take a true fellow believer to court (1 Cor.6:1-8). *e. Lying and theft are always wrong (Ep.4:25,28). *f. Be humble (Jam.4:10). *g. Greed and coveting is wrong (Luke 12:15; Ep.5:3; Col.3:5). *h. Love God and others (Mat.22:37-40). *i. Keep your promises (Ps.5:4). This just names a few things.

***** #2 Circumstances. Circumstances are the state of affairs or controlling factors, and God is in control of all things, all situations and all conditions at all times. Any circumstance ordered by God, we must submit to and we must accept. But, beware of Satan’s trying to control the situation. Satan must be resisted or he can lead us astray big time! Prayer again is one of the main ways to discern if it is God . . . or Satan. Satan hindered Paul (1 Thes. 2:18) and Daniel (Dan.10:1), but all came out for the best (Rom.8:28).

I think we all have heard of someone missing a plane, bus or train, then that vehicle crashing. This is a circumstance of which God is in control. God can and sometimes does reveal His will to us by changing the circumstances or removing an obstacle.

Jesus has the key to open any door, anywhere, any time, and when He opens it, NO one can shut it; and when He shuts a door, NO one can open it. Even the most powerful and influential ruler on Earth can be controlled by Jesus (Rev. 3:7). Pro.21:1 The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. (KJV)

Think about this; if you go to God and ask Him to give you higher paying job with your employer, and it doesn’t come through, it is most likely God’s answer as to His will in your life, through circumstances.

Is it a sin for us to ask God to reveal His will by giving us a sign as in the O.T.? (Gen.24:10-27; Jud. 6:36-40; Jon.1:7; Jos.7:14; 1 Sam.10:20; 14:41-44; Pro.16:33). There is only one place in the N.T. where men asked God to indicate His will by a sign (Acts 1:23-26). But, after the Holy Spirit came on the Day of Pentecost, there is not one instance of believers asking God to reveal His will to them by a sign. What did Jesus say? Mat.16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. (KJV) . . . We are to trust God . . . NOT signs!

*****#3. Advice and counsel of mature believers.
The O.T. tells us there is wisdom in seeking the advice of godly people (Pro.12:15; 12:26; 13:14; 20:18; 24:6). The N.T. tells us it is necessary that we function together as members of one body (Rom. 12:4-5; 1 Cor.12:12-13,20; Eph.4:4; Col.3:15). The wise person listens to others, a fool thinks he/she needs no advice. (Pro.12:15; 12:26; 13:14; 20:18).
Some words of caution about advice. Do not be foolish and refuse to listen to someone. Their advice may be the way God is revealing His will to you. On the other hand, do not be completely dependent on someone’s advice as to where you accept it without question, as God’s will for you. Always pray about it! God wants you to accept counsel from mature believers, but He does not want you to be a slave to their advice, not being able to move without it. Beware of people who claim to have the gift of ‘prophecy’ and try to tell people what to do. Guidance is NEVER one of the uses of prophecy. The gift of prophecy (today) is simply bringing the Word of God to people. It is NOT guiding them in their daily lives. Beware that Satan is not leading you to a fortune teller, psychic or sorcerer which is absolutely an abomination to God (Lev.19:31; 20:6; Deut.18:9-14; Isa.8:19; Mal.3:5; Gal.5:20). To consult these or take their advice would be grievous sin. That is NOT the will of God. God wants us to stay as far away from witchcraft and sorcery and all the evils associated with them. This all is of the devil, so run the other direction as fast as you can. THAT is God’s will for His people!

We as God’s people must love Him truly and completely and have a personal relationship with Him. We also must yearn to know more about Him with each passing day. Since God reveals His will to us through the Holy Spirit, we must never quench (stifle, restrain, retard, choke, suppress) His work in us.
To find God’s will for our lives, we must trust Him completely, study His Book daily, be willing to listen to a mature believer’s advice, and consider the circumstances in which we come in contact with each day. The key to finding God’s will is to listen carefully to His Voice within and much prayer. God could confirm His will for us through a Passage of our daily Bible reading. Circumstances could confirm His will or prevent us from going the wrong way, or He could change a situation to reveal His will. Do not tempt the Lord by asking for a sign. 1 Cor. 10:9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. (KJV) . . . We should never put Christ to the test, as the Israelites did and then died from snakebites. IF we try to tempt Christ, something bad may happen to us, the same way it happened to the Israelites (Ex.16:8,10; 17:2,7; Num. 14:2,22,36; 21:5-7; Ps.95:8-9). I don’t know about you, but I do not want to tempt Christ, neither will I murmur against Him! He simply wants us to trust and obey Him. After all He has done for us, is this too much to ask?
God’s will for us can be obtained if we truly desire it. He has the road map of our life in His Holy Hands and He wants us to have it. Trust Him.

Chapter 5 God’s Will And You

The treasures and pleasures this world offers, is Satan’s way of trying to plug our spiritual ears. He tries desperately to prevent us from hearing God’s Voice when He speaks to us (2 Cor.4:4). There is no person who has ever lived that is or was immune to the worldly spirit. The devil is cunning, sly and very skillful, and no one has ever escaped from his influence. He is in control of this present evil world (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; Eph.2:2; 6:12), and he makes things seem irresistible and very popular.

From the time we are born we start to go astray (Ps.58:3; Isa.48:8). We gobble up the evil spirit of the world by what we hear, see, read and by the friends we choose. This greatly affects our minds, our hearts, our thoughts and our attitudes. The vast majority of the world’s population “go with the flow” on that broad road that leads to destruction (Mat.7:13-14). Those who refuse to go this route are scorned and ridiculed as “religious fanatics” or “Jesus freaks.” When we are hated and shunned, we must remember the world hated Jesus too (John 15:18) and that our commitment to Jesus may, or most likely will, separate us from friends and loved ones (Mat.10:34-36; Luke 12:49-53). Jesus never encourages disobedience to parents or conflict at home, but He does say that His Presence demands a decision from us. Some will follow Christ and some refuse, so conflict will absolutely arise. As we take our cross and follow Him (put Him first above all else, forgetting self), our different values, morals, goals, and purposes in life will certainly set us apart from others. Don’t ever let it get you down. Choosing Jesus is absolutely the right way to go! Stay on that little, narrow road with Him.

The Spirit (God) who lives in us, is completely opposed to the spirit of the world (Satan).
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. (KJV) . . . When we look around us and see all the evil in this world that continues to worsen day by day, we may get overwhelmed by the problems we face. Evil is certainly much stronger than we are, for it is under the control of the devil. John assures us that God (who is in us) is much stronger than the devil. Always remember this. Jesus called Satan the prince of this world (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11), but in the end, Jesus will put this monster exactly where he belongs, forever! Rev. 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (KJV) . . . We can be victorious over the devil!
Col. 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: (KJV) . . . We have been rescued from the one who rules the kingdom of darkness, and have been brought into the Kingdom of His dear Son. We have victory!
Rom.8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (KJV) . . . We can be winners only with Jesus!
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. (KJV) . . . Only when we humble ourselves and place ourselves under God’s authority, can we ever be victorious over the devil. This is God’s will for us.
1 John 5:4-5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. [5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? (KJV) . . . When we are born of God (born spiritually into His family), we have won the victory over the devil by our faith. It is by our faith in Jesus, believing that He is God’s Son, that we overcome the world (are victorious over it). This is God’s will for us.
Philip. 2:10-11 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV) . . . THIS is the will of God! The incarnation was the fact of the preexistent Son of God freely and willingly assuming a human body and human nature. Jesus never ceased to be God, but He also became the Man, Jesus. He never gave up His deity to become human, but He set aside the right to His glory and power. When He submitted to the Father’s will, Christ limited His power and knowledge. Jesus of Nazareth was subject to place, time, and many other human limitations, the same as we are. But His humanity was unique in that He was completely free of sin!
While on Earth as Man, Jesus showed us everything about God’s character that can be conveyed in human terms. For more on the incarnation, see: John 1:1-14; Rom.1:2-5; 2 Cor. 8:9; 1 Tim. 3:16; Heb.2:14; and 1 John 1:1-3.

The incarnation was God’s will for Jesus. And without it, we all would be doomed. It is God’s will for us that we believe it, and accept it as a fact.

(1) Christ has always existed with God. (John 1:1-2).
(2) Christ is equal to God because He is God (John 1:1; 10:30; Col.1:15-20).
(3) Though Christ is God, He became a man in order to fulfill God’s plan of salvation for all people (John 3:16).
(4) Christ did not just have the appearance of being a man . . . He actually became human to identify with our sins (John 1:14).
(5) Christ voluntarily laid aside His divine rights out of love for His Father (John 4:34; 5:30,36; 6:38-40).
(6) Christ died on the cross for our sins so we wouldn’t have to face eternal death
1 John 2:2).
(7) God glorified Christ because of His obedience (John 13:32; 16:14; 17:1,5).
(8) God raised Christ to His original position at the Father’s right Hand, where He will reign forever as our Lord and Judge (Acts 5:31; 7:55-56; Rom.8:34; Eph.1:20; Heb.1:3,13; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2).

Can we do anything less than praise Christ as our Lord and dedicate ourselves to His service! To do so is absolutely the will of God. To reject Jesus and live a life of selfishness and worldliness, is completely against the will of God. Your choice. Choosing Jesus will give you access to Heaven.

Rejecting Jesus and staying the devil’s child (1 John 3:10), shall gain you access to Hell. 2 Thes. 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (KJV) . . . Scary!
1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. (KJV) . . . For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. When people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who sinned from the beginning. Jesus, the Son of God came to destroy the works of the Devil.

What is the worst sin in God’s eyes? My friend, it is unbelief! John 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; (KJV) . . . So clear! The world's worst sin is unbelief in Jesus! The Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin, because people do NOT believe in Jesus. It is God’s will that we believe Him and not call Him a “liar”. 1 John 5:10-12 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (KJV) . . . Those who do not believe that eternal life comes ONLY through Jesus, is actually calling God a liar! Whoever has accepted Jesus, has eternal life in Heaven. Whoever refuses to believe and rejects Jesus, does not have eternal life, but instead an eternity in an agonizing Hell. God’s Words, not mine.
John 3:15-18 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. [17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. [18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV) . . . Everyone who believes in Jesus will have eternal life in Heaven. God sent Jesus, NOT to condemn the world, but to SAVE the world. BUT, those who refuse to believe in Him are already condemned (judged to Hell) because they do not believe in God’s only Son.

It is God’s will that we believe in Jesus so that we can spend eternity in Heaven with them.
John 1:12-13 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [13] Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (KJV) . . . Only Jesus has the power to make us God’s children (born again).
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (KJV) . . . It is God’s will that we be born again (spiritually) into His family. If we choose not to do this, God is our enemy (Rom.5:1-10).
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. (KJV) . . . Hath = we HAVE eternal life NOW if we believe God. Eternal life for all people is God’s will. It’s so sad that so many refuse His invitation and Gift!
John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. (KJV) . . . People will die in their sins if they reject Christ, because they are rejecting the only way to be rescued from sin. It is SO sad that so many are blinded by the values of this world (2 Cor. 4:4), that they simply cannot see the priceless GIFT that Jesus offers. Do NOT focus on this world’s temporary values and miss what is most valuable Gift God has to offer . . . eternal life in Heaven.
John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (KJV) . . . ONLY one Way, JESUS!
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (KJV) . . . There is salvation in NO one else! There is NO other name any where for people to call on to save them. There is NO other god anywhere in this world that can save you, just Jesus! The Bible says so. And I believe this with my entire being; heart, soul, mind and strength!

THE WILL OF GOD

The will of God, will never lead you,
Where His grand wisdom won’t see you thru’.
His loving Arms, will always be there,
To help and hold you, because He cares.

The will of God, will never forsake,
No matter how many, errors we make.
His tender mercies, will always sustain,
Showing He’s with us, and shall remain.

The will of God, supplies all our needs,
If only to His Voice, we will heed.
Abundant are, His riches in glory,
Which He showers on us, all for free.

The will of God, gives us many things,
His Holy Spirit great comfort brings.
Peace, joy and assurance, we receive,
Such great assistance, we do achieve.

The will of God, will never take you,
Where His constant love, is held from view.
Sufficient is, His amazing grace,
As we strive patiently, to win the race.

The will of God, miracles can do,
For His mighty pow’r, will see you thru’.
His awesome peace will calm all your fears,
And the joy He grants, gives us great cheer.

The will of God, is always on your side,
When with Christ Jesus, you do abide.
God is pleased, if we trust and obey,
Let us stay close to Him, ev’ry day.

God’s Will . . . Summary

What I have written in this booklet is not meant to give you all the answers to finding God’s will in your life. I honestly don’t think anyone can give you all the answers. I have just tried to head you in the right direction and show you what God’s Word states on this subject. Only an immature child of God will insist on having answers that suit them.
Pro.16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps. (KJV) . . . We can make plans, but the Lord determines our steps. If we make God’s glory our main concern, and allow His will to rule us, He will direct our steps by His Spirit and His grace. We may plan our journey, but let us always get His road map for us first.

A right relationship with the Lord, will lead us to right actions. Many, many times in life, it is a simple matter of walking with the Spirit, and the Bible has much to say on this subject (Rom.8:4-5, 13-16; Gal.5:16-25; 6:8; Eph.5:18; 6:17-18; 1 Thes. 5:19). This just names a few of the many verses.

Don’t ponder over past failures in determining God’s will. It will happen!
Philip. 3:13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, [14] I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (KJV) . . . None of us are all that we should be. We should focus on one thing: forget the past and look forward to what lies ahead. We cannot change the past no matter what. So let’s look forward to eternal life in Heaven with Jesus.

We cannot live a victorious life for Jesus, or be of much use to Him in our service, or help others to find God if we are not sincere about our relationship with Jesus. And we must not try to talk God into what we want! He knows best, always has, always will! We simply must love Him, believe Him, trust Him and obey Him if we want Him to reveal His perfect will to us. If we insist on getting our own way, we shall suffer greatly from stunted spiritual growth and very poor “fruit” crops (Gal.5:22-23; Mat.7:16,20).

Each of us has disobeyed God many times in our lives. Is this what we truly want? Believe me, this is NOT God’s will for us. He wants loving and obedient children. That is His will.
Ephes. 5:15-17 See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. (KJV) . . . We must be careful how we live. We must not live like foolish people, but like wise people. We must make good use of every opportunity we have, because we live in evil days. We must NOT be fools, but strive to find out what the Lord wants us to do.
Col. 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time. (KJV) . . . We must live wisely among those who are not Christians, and make the most of every opportunity to tell them about Jesus. It is possible to miss God’s will for us if we are careless, disobedient or too busy with the world. God truly does want to guide us in the best paths for us. His plans are always best for us. If we surrender and submit to Him completely, He is very pleased and shall reveal His will for us.
IF we value God’s will for us as the greatest treasure on Earth, and IF we seek it with ALL our heart and soul and mind, God will graciously reach out and bless us with His wisdom in revealing His perfect will to us. Seek Him early (Pro.8:17; Jer.29:13).

We can determine God’s will for us in the vast majority of our decisions, day after day, simply by obeying Him as set forth in His Holy Word. His Book is in itself, a wondrous ‘road map’ for our life.
Psalm 25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose. (KJV) . . . Those who reverence the Lord will learn from him the path they should follow. To reverence the Lord is to fear Him, and to recognize God for who He is: holy, almighty, righteous, pure, all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-wise. When we see God correctly, we get a clear picture of ourselves: sinful, weak, frail, and needy. Only when we see this truth, will God show us how to choose His way (will).
#1 Remember that God is always at work all around us.
#2 He really wants us to have a close, personal relationship with Him. The closer we are to Him, the easier it is for us to know His will for us.
#3 Our Lord’s desire is that we willingly serve Him.
#4 He speaks to us in many ways: His Spirit, His Word, prayer, other people, and circumstances.
#5 Sooner or later, God will test your faith in Him.
#6 You will have to adjust your lifestyle, choosing Him instead of the world.
#7 The more you learn about Him, the more you obey Him, the easier it will be for you to see His will for you.

Let us go to our awesome and great God silently, many times a day. Our Lord Jesus opened up the door to permit us to speak to the Father personally. Let us ask Him to give us love, wisdom, understanding and strength to do His will . . . after He so graciously reveals it to us. If we would do this, we will be asking and receiving from God constantly.
