HIS SERVANTS' MINISTRY www.godcannotlie.org Welcome to our web site We here at His Servants' Ministry, teach the whole Truth of God's Holy Word. We teach God's goodness and mercy and Heaven; but we also teach God's righteous wrath and judgment to come and an eternal Hell, a Lake of Fire. It deeply saddens me the way that the world is turning away from the goodness of Almighty God. The vast majoriy of people in the world today never, ever, think of eternity. They just keep on keeping on in their sin, and they really must think they will go to Heaven. My dear friend, there really IS a Hell, and there really IS a Judgment Day when ALL people will be held accountable for their sins. BEWARE!!! Many of our articles are linked to other Christian web sites. We do not always agree 100% with everything these sites say, but as a rule, they have the same basic beliefs that we do. This is our 'godcannotlie' web site. <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> What
Does the Bible Say About: This booklet is one of the most requested by prison inmates. Contents Comments POEMS SCRIPTURE
VERSES TAKEN FROM: If
you see words in red,
bold italics, you will know
it is Jesus speaking. For instance: The WAY to Eternal Life We must ‘BELIEVE’ in Christ to receive eternal salvation of our souls. #1. Believe that Jesus is God [Matthew 3:17; John 10:30], #2. Believe in His virgin birth [Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25], #3. Believe that He never sinned [Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 1:18-20; 2:22], #4. Believe that He died on the Cross for us, to save us from eternal death [Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24; 3:18], #5. Believe that He is alive, that He was resurrected from the dead [Psalm 16:10; Luke ch. 24;Acts 26:23], #6. Believe that He ascended to Heaven and is now sitting at the right Hand of God, the Father Almighty, interceding for us [Luke 24:51; Acts 1:9], #7. Believe that the power of His precious Blood can cleanse ANYONE who accepts Him, from all their sins [1 John 1:7; Revelation 1:5], #8. Believe that salvation (eternal life) is a “GIFT” from God simply by our faith and the grace of God, not by any works we could ever do [Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 6:23], #9. Believe Jesus when He tells us He will personally come again [1 Thessalonians 4:13-18], and #10. Believe Him when He tells us we must obey His command to LOVE, and to tell others about Him [Matthew 22:36-40, 28:18-20]. Believe that Jesus is the only WAY to Heaven! HOLD ON TIGHT When
you turn to Christ to save your soul, Hold
on tight to Jesus, with a firm hold, Grab
hold and hold on tight, to our Lord, Satan
will lure with temptations great, Hold
on tight to Christ, our precious Lord, Hold
on tight to Christ; clutch securely, ***************************** INTRODUCTION WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT: I recently had a prison inmate suggest that we
do a book on these subjects. To quote him: “A
good booklet for prisoners would be one that teaches
about not being prideful and violent.” Then
he added “also sexual lust.” The Bible very clearly tells us that we are ALL sinners, every last one of us. Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: [KJV] Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; [KJV] So, if we are all sinners, what’s the big deal? The big deal is that there are two classifications of sinners: those who are saved and forgiven by the precious Blood of Jesus, and those who are not saved nor forgiven, because they persist in rejecting the only One who can save them or forgive them.
Tomorrow
for you, may never come, Only
Jesus can save your very soul, Tomorrow
may never come for you, Don’t
wait ‘till tomorrow to trust Him, Today
is sure; tomorrow is not, ***************************** A lot of people must think they will live forever, by the way they live. They have absolutely NO fear or respect of Almighty God! And then there are so many today that think ‘everybody will go to Heaven.’ This is utterly FALSE! The Bible does NOT teach any such thing! In fact, the Bible teaches that there will be just a “few” that ever make it to Heaven. Matthew 7:13-14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: [14] Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [KJV] Jesus tells us we can enter Heaven only through the narrow gate. The highway to Hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the multitude who choose the easy road. Only a few ever go through that strait (hard) gate and walk the narrow road with Jesus. TRANSITION TIME Life
on Earth is a time of transition, This
is a topic most tend to neglect, Belief
in Jesus, will place you in Heav’n, Transition
from Earth, to another place, Your
soul lives forever; the Bible tells, Transition
time: have you thought about it? ***************************** You have a soul, and that soul will live FOREVER in one of two places. Your soul is the true you. It is the eternal you. If your name is not written in the “book of life” you cannot ever enter Heaven. Revelation 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. [KJV] The “lake of fire” is HELL! So many people have so many misguided thoughts and imaginations about Hell. Hell IS a litreal place. And it will be a place of absolute torture and agony that will NEVER end! Oh, how I pray that this little book will touch the heart of just one lost soul. How I pray that this little book would make just one see the Truth of the Bible! You are absolutely on the way to Hell without Jesus! 1 John 5:9-12 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. [10] He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [KJV] Since we believe human testimony, surely we can believe the testimony that comes from God. And in this Passage, God has clearly testified about His Son. Those who don't believe this are actually calling God a liar because they don't believe what God has testified about His Son. God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. IF you have God's Son, you have life; IF you reject God's Son, Hell awaits. IF you truly want to know the Truth of the Bible, God will make it known to you. Can you afford to take a chance that you are wrong and God is right? Eternity is at stake. Will it be Heaven? I
truly believe that God has allowed us this time
on Earth to make the biggest and most important
decision we will ever make; that being where we
will spend eternity. God did not make us robots.
He gave us a mind and a heart and a free will
to make our own decisions. He
will not force us to make any decision, He will
not force us to love Him. He will not force us
to stop our sin, whatever that sin may be. This little book will tell you, in very plain
words what God thinks about sin, and what God
wants for you (to turn AWAY from sin and TO Him).
It will tell you about sins like pride, anger,
violence, malice, vengeance, coveting, hate, and
sexual lust. It will tell you they are wrong and
that God hates all of them! THE
SIN OF PRIDE Just exactly what is ‘pride’ and why does God hate it so? Pride is an over-high opinion of oneself; exaggerated self-esteem; conceit; arrogance; self important; self-exaltation; over confident; great delight in one’s achievements and/or possessions. But --- WHY does God hate it so much? He hates
it because in effect you are saying: “I
can do it myself. I don’t NEED you God!”
There are so many people today who fit into this
category. Self-made millionaires, famous movie
stars, politicians, rulers, etc. “God didn’t
do this --- I did it!” Below are some verses
from the Bible about PRIDE. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 In
flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know
not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord
Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting
destruction from the presence of the Lord, and
from the glory of his power. [KJV] --- God
will tell you exactly how it will be, IF you want
to know! HUMILITY AND PRIDE The Book of Proverbs is direct and forceful in rejecting pride. Pride tops the list of seven things God hates (Prov. 6:16-17). Harmful results of pride are contrasted in the Bible with humility and its benefits. Humility: leads to wisdom, takes advice, and ends in honor. Pride: leads to disgrace, causes quarrels, ends in punishment and destruction. EXAMPLES
OF PRIDE (1) King Nebuchadnezzer had a dream, which Daniel interpreted for him. In the dream, the king saw a tree; strong, tall enough to reach Heaven, and wide enough to fill the Earth. In his dream, he saw “a watcher and an holy one” come down from Heaven (Dan.4:13-14) with orders to cut the tree down. God’s “watchers” (probably angels) see everything, know everything and tell everything to God! If you think that you are living in secret, and that God does not know what you are doing, think again! In Psalm 139:7-12 we are told that no matter where we go, we CANNOT get away from God or His all seeing eyes. Daniel told the king why the dream was given to
him. Nebuchadnezzer was lifted up with pride.
The (3) Haman, Persian
king. Esther 3:5 And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not,
nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of
wrath. [KJV] ---
When Haman saw that Mordecai would not bow down
or show him respect, he was filled with rage.
Haman loved the power and prestige of his position,
and he was enraged when Mordecai (a Jew) did not
bow down before him. Haman was not angry only
at Mordecai, but toward what Mordecai stood for;
the Jews’ dedication to God as the only
one worthy of reverence. Haman was prejudiced:
he hated a group of people (Jews) because of their
difference in belief and culture. Prejudice grows
out of personal pride; when someone considers
themselves better than others. God
is NOT prejudiced! Romans
2:11 For there is no respect of persons
with God. [KJV] Any one who is prejudiced
sins! James 2:9 But if ye
have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are
convinced of the law as transgressors. [KJV]
In the end, Haman was punished for his arrogant,
sinful attitude by Almighty God. God will harshly
judge those who are prejudiced or whose pride
causes them to look down on others. This is NOT
what God wants from His children. 4.
Satan, the devil. I would like
to include one more ‘example’ of pride
given to us in the Bible, and that is the devil.
So many people think Satan (Lucifer, the devil,
etc.) is a horrendous looking red creature with
horns and a pitchfork. This is far from
the truth! Lucifer was one of God’s
angels in the realm of Heaven. He was beautiful!
He was probably God’s most beautiful creation. Notice what it states about Satan: “full of wisdom and perfect in beauty” (28:12). No mere man is either of these! “Every precious stone was thy covering.” (28:13) We cannot begin to imagine how beautiful Satan was and IS! “The workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.” Not only was Satan a thing of beauty, but he could sing and was musically inclined. Where is music first mentioned in the Bible? Genesis 4:21 --- the offspring of Cain. There is indeed some wonderful music: hymns, Gospel songs, classical, some country songs, but some is straight from the devil himself! Ezekiel 28:17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. [KJV] Please note: Satan’s heart was filled with “pride” because he was so beautiful. There are many today that fall into this category. Maybe you are one of them. We can become ‘proud’ for many, many reasons, ALL of which are wrong! ALL of which are sin! God simply hates (abhors) ALL pride! Satan fell because of pride; many will go with him. Isaiah 14:12-14 How art thou
fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst
weaken the nations! [13] For thou hast said in
thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will
exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will
sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in
the sides of the north: [14] I will ascend above
the heights of the clouds; I will be like the
most High. [KJV] --- There are several interpretations
of these verses. (1) It is Satan, because the
person here is too powerful for any human king.
(2) This could be Sennacherib or Nebuchadnezzar,
kings with supreme power. Their people looked
upon them as gods. These kings wanted to rule
the world. (3) It could refer to both Satan and
a great human king, possibly Nebuchadnezzar, because
Babylon is pictured as the seat of evil in Rev.
17-18. Pride was Satan’s sin as well as
Babylon’s. But, what all three viewpoints
share is: pride
willfully opposes God and will result in judgment. Isaiah 14:13-14 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: [14] I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. [KJV]
The “I wills” of Satan are answered
by God! Satan was given a free will (as we are) to make decisions. God allowed him to do as he wanted to do. God allows us the same privilege. Satan was so puffed up with pride that he set his will against the will of God. There are many people today that place their will above what God wants for them. There are only two ways to go: God’s way --- or your way! There are only two groups of people on the Earth today: God’s children --- and Satan’s children. There are only two destinations to eternity: Heaven and Hell. Which road are you on? As you read this, if you are not a child of God headed for Heaven, you can be! Stop listening to Satan. He is headed for Hell. Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: [KJV] VIOLENCE Violence is physical force used to injure or damage; any roughness in action; the use of force to hurt, injure or damage a person, animal or thing; severe action; unjust use of power. Genesis 6:11 The earth also
was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled
with violence. [KJV] --- Noah did not find
favor in the eyes of men; they hated and persecuted
him because by his life and preaching he condemned
the world: but Noah
found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis
6:8). What a tremendous statement! Let this be
our desire, that we may be accepted by God, and
find grace in His eyes. The rest of the world
was wicked (evil continually Genesis 6:5), but
Noah kept his integrity. He “was a just
man, and walked with God” (Genesis 6:9).
He had right principles, and was righteous in
his lifestyle. He was honest and devout. He wanted
to do the will of God. He wanted to hurt no one,
as those around him did. Our sins deserve all griefs and sorrows and judgment. But because of Christ’s sufferings, we are saved from Hell. Atonement was made for our sins. And this (Christ) is the only way of salvation. Our sins were those horrendous thorns that was crushed upon Christ’s head; those huge rusty nails pounded in His Hands and Feet; the spear that was thrust in His precious side. He was delivered to death for our offenses; a sinless Sacrifice. By His sufferings He redeemed us from the bondage and penalty of sin. Ezekiel 45:9 Thus saith the Lord God; Let it suffice you, O princes of Israel: remove violence and spoil, and execute judgment and justice, take away your exactions from my people, saith the Lord God. [KJV] Violence, extortion and greed are major social sins, of which God’s children should have NO part. How do you measure goods, money, or services. If you are paid for an hour of work, be sure you work for a full hour. If you sell a cord of wood, make sure it is a full cord. God is completely trustworthy, and His followers should be too. Job 20:19 Because he hath oppressed and hath forsaken the poor; because he hath violently taken away an house which he builded not; [KJV] The love of the world and love of money is evil! Yet man sets his heart upon them. The sins of violence and injustice will absolutely bring God’s judgments down on you and your family. Though you may not ‘get caught’ by authorities, God knows exactly what you do and think! Ezekiel 11:5-B --- for I know the things that come into your mind, every one of them. [KJV] --- You will NOT escape God’s judgment! Your every sin will be paid for unless you repent, turn to Jesus, and ask forgiveness. He came to save the world (John 3:17; 6:33, 51). That includes you --- and me! Job 24:2 Some remove the
landmarks; they violently take away flocks, and
feed thereof. [KJV] Many who live at ease
are ungodly and profane. Many who defy (mock,
despise) all the laws of justice seem to succeed
in wicked practices. But anyone who acquires riches
by violence, oppression, or unjust, unrighteous
acts will most assuredly be judged by a righteous
Judge, and be condemned for all the wrongs they
have done. WHEN SIN COMES BETWEEN Sin will block you from our wondrous
God, In sin, we lose the “joy
of salvation,” Sin will always make your pathway
dark, We
must confess our sin, night or day, If
we obey Him, our path is bright, When
e’er you sin; that cloud comes between, ************************ Luke 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages. [KJV] --- John the Baptist gave general warnings to the people when they came to be baptized. The guilty, corrupted race of mankind is become a generation of vipers; hateful to God, and hating one another. There is no way to flee from God’s wrath, except to repent. And when we change our way, the change of our mind and heart must be shown. If we do not change, both in our heart and our life, our profession of religion and our relationship to God and His church, will do us NO good at all. Stop violence and don’t lie! RESULTS
OF VIOLENCE Genesis 6:5-7 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. [6] And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. [7] And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. [KJV] --- All kinds of sin were found among these people. They corrupted and perverted God’s worship. Sin completely filled the Earth with violence. It was like a widespread, infectious epidemic. God was fully justified in His decision to destroy the world. He is the God of this entire universe; the Creator of ALL things, be they plant, animal, fish, or human. No matter what you see, God created it! It belongs to Him! He has the absolute right to do with it as He sees fit! When wickedness became “evil continually”
God decided to step in. He had taken all that
He could take! So, what did God do? I have written this before,
in another book. At one time, I did not have the
compassion I thought I should have for lost souls.
One night I asked God to “show me something
of what Hell is like.” I was truly sincere
in my request. God did answer my prayer. Sometimes
I wish I had not asked. He opened my heart to
lost people, doomed to the ‘pits of Hell.’
He ‘showed’ me things about Hell that
makes me desperate to reach those who do not know
Jesus. He has given me poems for several years
now; but He has given me more poems on Hell than
any other subject. I can ‘see’ what
Hell is like, and I will try my utmost best to
keep you from going there. You do NOT want to
go to Hell, please believe me! SEXUAL
LUST Lust
for anything is wrong! Lust is sin! Lust is seeking
to fulfill your pleasure; desire to gratify the
senses; bodily appetite; sexual desire; excessive
sexual desire; seeking unrestrained gratification;
craving; passion; urge; appetite; eagerness; lasciviousness.
Lasciviousness is being lewd, obscene, indecent,
vulgar, wanton or dirty. Wanton is unruly or willful. Let’s start out with some questions. (1) Q.--- Is there any such thing as ‘safe sex’ outside marriage? A.--- According to God there is not. ALL illicit sex outside the one man-one woman marriage is wrong and sin. This includes: premarital sex, adultery, fornication, homosexual or gay and lesbian acts, prostitution whether male or female, incest, rape, and this even includes lustful thoughts or obscene speech. God forbids ALL sexual immorality, no matter what it is, or who is doing it. (2) Q. --- What
is the truth about sexual standards? 1 Corinthians 6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. [KJV] --- God created sex to be a beautiful and needed ingredient of marriage, but sexual sin (sex outside the marriage relationship) always hurts someone. It hurts God because it shows that we choose to follow our own lustful desires instead of obeying the Holy Spirit. It hurts others because it tampers with the commitment (promises) necessary to a relationship. It affects our nature for we harm ourselves physically and spiritually. It also can bring disease to our bodies, such as venereal or so-called social diseases; syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes and last but not least --- aids. Have you ever wondered why they can’t find a ‘cure’ for aids? I, personally believe it is God’s wrath against such actions that cause it. And I believe that if they do find a ‘cure,’ that yet another horrific disease will take its place. I feel so sorry for all the innocent people infected with this virus. More on homosexuals in another chapter. (3) Q. --- What’s the consequences of giving in to sexual lust? A. --- [a] Immorality produces victims. Even though those involved are willing participants; they have been abused, deceived, robbed and wronged. [b] Immorality invites God’s judgment, by outraging Him. This sin is wrong, as are all other sins, and God does not take any sin lightly. Galatians 6:7-8 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. [8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. [KJV] --- NO one makes a fool of God. It you plant corn, corn will come up; not tomatoes! Whatever you plant, that is what you will harvest. This is true in other areas of life too. Every action has results. If you plant to please your own desires (lust), you’ll reap a crop of sorrow and evil. Time here on Earth is ‘planting’ time. Time in eternity (in the other world) is ‘reaping’ time. You can ‘plant’ two entirely different ways; one “to the flesh” (giving in to your lust), and the other “to the Spirit” (giving in to God). Whatever we sow, that is what we will have coming to us. If you give in to your lust by living a life of sin, you cannot expect to gather anything but misery and everlasting destruction in Hell. But if you obey the leading of the Holy Spirit by living a life of faith in Christ, you shall reap life everlasting in Heaven above. What kind of seeds are you planting? Let’s consider some common, well known LIES about sexual lust.
HOMOSEXUALITY A homosexual is someone who has sexual lust for another of the same sex, as opposed to a heterosexual (sexual relations between individuals of opposite sex). This ministry believes the Bible (both the Old and New testaments) to be inerrant (never wrong) as originally given, and was written by men inspired by God. The Bible is a complete revelation of God’s will for mankind. The Bible speaks to us, showing us just what God expects from us, and what He wants us to avoid. We take a firm stand because of this, regarding the sinfulness of homosexuality. God hates it, therefore we must hate it! It is an abomination to God, therefore it must be an abomination to us! Is the ‘gay’ or ‘lesbian’
lifestyle any more sinful than that among heterosexuals?
No. Sin is sin and God hates ALL sin! We must
remember that Christ died for all sinners; that
means everyone, for we ALL are sinners! Romans
3:10 As it is written, There is none
righteous, no, not one: [KJV] So, are you doomed to Hell because of sexual lust?
Not if you turn your life over to Jesus! Did God ‘make’ homosexual people? There is NO evidence whatsoever to this belief. There is NO scientific proof that homosexuality is genetic. There is no specific gene that makes you a homosexual. This lifestyle is chosen; it is an acquired sexual dysfunction, it is not inherited. Let’s
go to the Bible and see exactly what God has to
say about homosexuality. It’s not good! 1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. [KJV] --- “Does not sin” means we do NOT continue in sin; we do NOT practice sin! However, those who say (profess to be) that they are Christians (there are many) but continue on in these sinful, immoral practices (with no sign of remorse) will NOT inherit the kingdom of God, for they are NOT true Christians. In our permissive society, it is so easy for Christians to overlook or tolerate some immoral behaviors (greed, drunkenness, lies, etc.) yet become outraged at others (homosexuality, thievery, murder, etc.). We must not participate in sin or condone it in any way, nor should we say: “This sin is OK, but that one is not.” 1 Timothy 1:8-11 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; [9] Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, [10] For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; [11] According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. [KJV] --- There are many today who try to legitimize homosexuality as an acceptable alternative life-style. Even some so-called ‘Christians’ say people have a right to choose their sexual preference. But that is NOT what God tells us! The Bible specifically calls homosexual behavior sin, as we have seen in the above verses. Even in the light of this, we must be careful to condemn only the practice but not the people. That judgment, that condemnation belongs to only One, that being God! They can be forgiven and their lives can be transformed, and we should try to help them do this if we can. Tell them about Jesus; His love, forgiveness, and salvation He can bring to them. Our fleshly lusts continually try to pull us away from God and His goodness, into a life of self-fulfillment and pleasure. “But it feels so natural” homosexuals say. All sin ‘feels’ natural! We were born into a sinful line, going all the way back to Adam and Eve. Psalm 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. [KJV] --- David was a sinner: sexual lust, adultery, conspiring, lies, murder; yet God called him “A man after His own heart.” WHY? Because David repented of all his sins and God forgave him (read Psalm 51). If God did it for David and millions more, He can do it for you too! RESULTS
OF A God very plainly states that He hates ALL sin; and any gay or lesbian acts are sin according to Almighty God. God also very plainly states in His Word (Bible) that ALL sin will be punished. There will be a penalty for all sin. When Jesus died on the Cross, He paid the penalty for the sins of the world; but unless you accept Jesus and His Work on the Cross which was paying the penalty for our sins (redeeming us from Hell), you must pay sin’s penalty on your own. You are NOT able to do that. You CANNOT buy nor work your way out of Hell into Heaven. John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. [KJV] God’s wrath (because of sin) can be removed only through faith in Jesus. Genesis 19:1-28 And
there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot
sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them
rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with
his face toward the ground; [2] And he said, Behold
now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your
servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash
your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go
on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will
abide in the street all night. [3] And he pressed
upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him,
and entered into his house; and he made
them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and
they did eat. [4] But before they lay down, the
men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed
the house round, both old and young, all the people
from every quarter: [5] And they called unto Lot,
and said unto him, Where are the men which came
in to thee this night? bring them out unto us,
that we may know them. [6] And Lot went out at
the door unto them, and shut the door after him,
[7] And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so
wickedly. [8] Behold now, I have two daughters
which have not known man; let me, I pray you,
bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as
is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing;
for therefore came they under the shadow of my
roof. [9] And they said, Stand back. And they
said again, This one fellow came in to sojourn,
and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal
worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed
sore upon the man, even Lot, and came near to
break the door. [10] But the men put forth their
hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and
shut to the door. [11] And they smote the men
that were at the door of the house with blindness,
both small and great: so that they wearied themselves
to find the door. [12] And the men said unto Lot,
Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy
sons, and thy daughters, and whatsoever thou hast
in the city, bring them out of this place: [13]
For we will destroy this place, because the cry
of them is waxen great before the face of the
Lord; and the Lord hath sent us to destroy it.
[14] And Lot went out, and spake unto his sons
in law, which married his daughters, and said,
Up, get you out of this place; for the Lord will
destroy this city. But he seemed as one that mocked
unto his sons in law. [15] And when the morning
arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise,
take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are
here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of
the city. [16] And while he lingered, the men
laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of
his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters;
the Lord being merciful unto him: and they brought
him forth, and set him without the city. [17]
And it came to pass, when they had brought them
forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life;
look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all
the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be
consumed. [18] And Lot said unto them, Oh, not
so, my Lord: [19] Behold now, thy servant hath
found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified
thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving
my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain,
lest some evil take me, and I die: [20] Behold
now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is
a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it
not a little one?) and my soul shall live. [21]
And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee
concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow
this city, for the which thou hast spoken. [22]
Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do any
thing till thou be come thither. Therefore the
name of the city was called Zoar. [23] The sun
was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into
Zoar. [24] Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and
upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord
out of heaven;
[25] And he overthrew those cities, and all the
plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities,
and that which grew upon the ground. [26] But
his wife looked back from behind him, and she
became a pillar of salt. [27] And Abraham gat
up early in the morning to the place where he
stood before the Lord: [28] And he looked toward
Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of
the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the
country went up as the smoke of a furnace. [KJV] --- The gate (19:1) to the city was a place
of authority. Lot’s status in Sodom was
perhaps the reason he was reluctant to leave (19:16).
Lot was the only ‘good’ one there;
all the rest were very wicked and vile. Lot had
to flee for his life. He must not long for anything
of Sodom. We too are given similar commands to
deliver us out of a sinful state and condition.
Return not to sin and Satan. Don’t be secure
in self and what the world offers. Reach out for
Christ and Heaven. When we consider the destruction
of Sodom and Gomorrah, we must realize that it
is revealing God’s wrath against sin and
sinners of all times. God states that sin is evil
and it leads to ruin. 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: [9] Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power. [KJV] In this account of Sodom and Gomorrah, we see two sides of God’s character: His great patience and His fierce anger. As we grow spiritually, we should develop a deeper reverence and respect for God because of His anger toward sin, and too, a deeper love for Him because of His extreme patience with us when we sin. Lot, his wife and their daughters were commanded NOT to look back (19:17); but Lot’s wife turned back to look at the smoldering city of Sodom (19:26). She wanted to cling to the past (the good times), she just was not willing to turn fully away. Do you look back longingly at sin while trying to move forward with God? You CANNOT do it! You cannot make progress with God as long as you are holding on to some of your old life, refusing to give it all up. Jesus tells us plainly: Matthew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters.” Because Lot’s wife ‘couldn’t
let go’ she immediately became a “pillar
of salt” when she longingly “looked
back.” SHE LOOKED BACK Sodom
and Gomorrah were evil towns, Lot
gather’d his fam’ly and left that
day, Murder
was not her sin; she just ‘looked back,’ When
she ‘looked back,’ it show’d
her true heart, Do
you have a secret love for this world? The
‘things’ of this world are not here
to stay, *************************** Sexual lust was not this woman’s sin; but she did indeed lust --- after worldly things. Her sin was greed and coveting (lust). We must resist and turn our hearts away from lust, for all lust is sin! ANGER,
WRATH Anger is a feeling coming from evil, injury, mistreatment, opposition, etc.; it usually presents itself in a desire to hit out at someone or something. It is: wrath; rage; indignation; ire; fury; irritation. Anger is an feeling (sensation, response) of instant displeasure because of something evil or something we don’t agree with. Anger is not necessarily sinful; but may become so if allowed to fester (postponing it), if there is no cause, if it is excessive, or if vengeance is planned (malice). When anger or wrath is ascribed to God, it simply implies His displeasure with sin and with sinners. Psalm 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. [KJV] --- God is always perfectly fair. ANGER IS FORBIDDEN Ecclesiastes 7:9 Be not hasty
in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in
the bosom of fools. [KJV] --- Many times
our troubles turn out better than we ever thought
they could. It is better to be patient than to
be proud and hasty. We should not be quick temtered.
Be not soon angry, nor be angry for long; for
these are not actions of a wise man. Have you ever been glad that you didn’t
strike out at someone and say what was really
on your mind? Self-control is good! But Jesus
wants us to exercise thought-control too! Jesus
said that we will be held accountable even for
our attitudes! All wild uncontrolled anger is
‘heart’ murder. 1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth
his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no
murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
[KJV] --- John echoes Jesus’ teaching (above)
that whoever hates another person is a “murderer”
at heart. Harboring anger and bitterness against
someone is like a fast spreading cancer within
you; and it will eventually destroy you. We should
love our Lord Jesus, and value His love by loving
others. Love is NOT lust or sex; love is care,
concern and compassion for others. Why are we to forgive our enemies?
Romans 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. [KJV] --- We cannot win in a fight with Satan. You must not adopt worldly strategies of hate and revenge, or your end will be total defeat, total destruction! You can win the war over evil by doing “good” to the one who does evil to you. Try it! ANGER IS LINKED TO CRUELTY. Proverbs 27:3-4 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. [4] Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy? [KJV] --- Those who cannot control their emotions or passions, will sink deep in the mire of sin under the load. God curses anger, resentment and wrath, for it is sin (the sin of a fool). Control is possible! Take it to Jesus! Proverbs 29:8 Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath. [KJV] Mockers can get a whole town agitated, but those who are wise will calm anger. HARSH WORDS STIR UP ANGER. Proverbs 15:1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger. [KJV] You cannot stir up an argument if you whisper! It is just as hard to argue with someone who insists on answering in a soft, gentle manner. Most arguments start with a voice that keeps getting louder and louder; speaking harsh, contemptible words. If you do not want to argue, but want peace; choose kind, gentle words. Grievous words stirs up rage. BE SLOW TO GET ANGRY. Proverbs 15:18 A wrathful
man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to
anger appeaseth strife. [KJV] --- A hothead
starts fights; a cool-tempered person tries to
stop them. Those who are slow to anger, not only
prevents strife, but appeases it, if kindled.
Learn to control your temper. Daniel 3:19 Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated. [KJV] --- We are back with the king again! Nebuchadnezzar
made a huge, golden idol, and demanded that everyone
fall down and worship it. Daniel 3:6 And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth
shall the same hour be cast into the midst of
a burning fiery furnace. [KJV] --- These
three young men absolutely refused! The king was
“full of fury.” What was
this king’s sin in verse 19? Pride started it; then he became angry,
which led to violence. It’s
the same with us at times; one sin leads to another,
then another, on and on! A vicious cycle! THE
GOLDEN RULE DO UNTO OTHERS If
you want others not to lie to you, If
you want others to be loving and kind, If
you want others to speak soft, tender words, Do
unto others as you’d have them do, If you want others to help comfort
you, If
you want forgiveness, for wrongs you’ve
done, *************************** If you “Do unto others” only things
that you would want people to do to you, you will
never harm anyone, for you certainly do not wish
evil upon yourself! Deep in your heart, you want
only ‘good’ things to come to you,
no matter how rough and mean you try to act. Romans 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. [KJV] --- Loving others (care, concern, compassion) includes the duties of the last five commandments. They are all summed up in this ‘royal law,’(James 2:8) “Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” If we love our neighbor as ourself, we will want only good to come to them, because we want only good to come to us! Galatians 5:14 For all the
law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou
shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [KJV]
--- When we are not motivated
by love, we really judge and criticize others.
We never look for any good in them; we see only
their faults. Have you talked about someone when
you shouldn’t have? Have you focused only
on their shortcomings instead of their strengths?
If you feel critical of someone, think of that
person’s good qualities! If there are problems
that need to be ironed out, it is better to confront
them face to face (in love), rather than gossip
behind their back. No one is perfect! But when we
begin to think we are because of pride, our troubles
have just started! CONSIDER Consider
how many folks there are, Most
people want what Satan can give, Satan
makes ev’ry thing look so great, People
just flock to his constant pull, I
ask you to consider one thing more, Can
the ‘prince of devils’ save your soul? If
you follow Satan; with him you’ll go, ************************** THE GATES OF HEAVEN, OR HELL’S FIRES The
gates of Heaven, or Hell’s fires, Most
go thru’ life, not thinking of God, This
Earth is not our perm’nent home, God
does live in Heaven above, Without
our Lord, there’s just Hell’s fires, *********************** SALVATION Jesus
said “Except
a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom
of God.” (John 3:3).
What does it mean to be ‘born again’?
When we are born of our mother (our physical birth),
this is our ‘first birth’. Our second
birth comes the moment we accept Jesus as Saviour
and Lord (Jn.1:12-13). Jesus said you can’t
even see Heaven without being ‘born again.’
Salvation (eternal life in Heaven) is readily
available to all! It is not something you buy,
or work for; it is a “Gift”! God made
salvation so simple that even a child could understand
and accept it. God loves you. He does not want
you to go to Hell, but if you refuse to accept
the “Gift” of His Son, which is eternal
life, you most certainly will end up there. Romans
5:1 Therefore being justified by
faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ: [KJV] ‘Justified’
--- just as if you’d never sinned! You are
declared ‘not guilty’ in the courts
of Heaven! This can happen only through Jesus!

Hell). Where will YOU spend eternity? A Gift, Unequaled . . A Loving God Wouldn't Send Me To Hell . . Christ in Psalms . . Christ Is the Door . . False Teachers . . God's Kind of Love . .
